The Shikon no Tama or the Sacred Jewel was created by the priestess Midoriko and the demons who wanted her dead. One specific demon who wanted to take her life because he could not have her: Magatsuhi. Once he first met the priestess; he had fallen in love with her and wanted her for himself. However, he found out that the priestess Midoriko was about to give up the priestess title... for she had given birth not to long before to a child and was about to have her own family. She had loved a male human and even had his child. Magatsuhi's anger, jealously, and hatred combined into wanting to kill Midoriko and hence the main reason why this demon wanted to have her dead. This is where the story begins...

"Mizuki.... MIZUKI" shouted my younger sister's voice, as I sighed and looked at the newspaper that was in my hands. "It's under your bed" I shouted while staying calm. "AH-HA" she shouted, as I sighed standing up and made my way to the counter of the kitchen. "Good morning my dearest Mizuki" said my mother smiling, as I sighed and poured my coffee. "What's so good about it?" I asked, as she sighed. "Now Mizuki, we talked about this before" she said, as I sighed while closing my eyes. "Yes, yes, I am the descendant of the great priestess Midoriko and our family has been living secretly through thousands of generations in order for our family to go on... I know already" I said sipping my coffee. My mother sighed closing her eyes and then paused when seeing my younger sister Reina running down the stairs. "I'm late catch you later" she said, as my mother ran and blocked her. "Now Reina remember your father is coming home from Japan with a great gift, so do not be late" she said, as Reina sighed. "Yeah, yeah, I know" she said running out the door. "Now Mizuki" said my mother, as I closed my eyes. "Sorry mom I'm headed to the mechanics now" I said walking passed her and walked out the door. I sighed closing my eyes, as I was walking along the streets. My mother had originally came from Japan and was so happy that she could have Reina and I to pass down our ancestry and history to us... but to be totally honest.... I'm more interested in my father's side of the family. His family were great blacksmiths and could fix anything that was metal. That is what was interesting to me... as for Reina well... she's more interested in boys... who could blame her after all she is a 17 year old girl and in high school. Me? I'm twenty-three and work with the mechanics to fix cars, but I can fix other objects too. Once there I watched as the guys were fixing an old BMW car. I sighed and started tinkering with some objects I have been meaning to fix. Near the end of the day my boss walks up to me. "Ah Mizuki" he said, as I glanced at him. "I'm afraid... we're going to have to let you go" he said, as my eyes widened. "What for?" I asked, as he sighed closing his eyes. "I'm afraid I'm going out of business, not much I can do" he said, as I lowered my head. "I... understand" I said, as I packed all my stuff and started heading home. Once home I made my way to the garage which is kind of like my own little workshop. I started hammering away at my newest creation. It was like a knight's shield... but it still gave me great joy to work on it. I then paused as there was a knock on the door. "Mizuki" said my mother, as I sighed turning off my torch and welding mask. I then looked up at my mother smiling sadly. "Your father is home everyone is waiting" she said, as I knew from her face she knew what happened to me. I walked into the living room seeing my father smiling greatly. He had something wrapped in a cloth on the table and a small box to the right of it. "So what's this all about?" asked my mother, as I sat down on the couch. "Now, now, this is a wonderful news... I talked with some men at the Japanese museum and they have agreed to let us keep the priestess Midoriko statue in honour of your mother" he said, as my mother's eyes glittered. "Oh Sam" she said running up to him and hugging him. "Hold on... where are we going to put this statue?" I asked, as my father smiled nervously. "You have got to be kidding, where am I going to work on my stuff? I just got laid off" I said, as my mother looked at me. "Mizuki... isn't it about time you gave up on that stuff and looked for a husband?" she asked, as my eyes widened. I growled and my fists started shaking. "Now, now I have souvenirs for everyone, not just my precious wife" he said holding up a box and gave it to Reina. "Here Reina, special prayer beads" he said opening the box and Reina's eyes wavered seeing some beads were neon green and dark green. "These beads are said to heal any wound, no matter how serious" he said, as Reina smiled putting it around her neck. I sighed closing my eyes and standing up. "I'm going now" I said, as my father paused. "Wait, Mizuki" he said, as I paused and glanced back at him. "There is nothing you could give me that would make me forgive you" I said, as I paused when he unclothed the object that was on the table. I paused seeing bits and pieces and a broken handle of what looked like a sword. "This sword was once wielded by a fierce mercenary and a leader of them called the band of seven" he said, as I paused eyeing the sword. I felt like it was calling me... begging me to save it. "It is called Banryu" he said, as I slowly walked over to it and lightly touched it. I felt bad for the sword... I could tell it was in pain... I know it sounded silly... but to me it was crying out in pain. I grunted and looked up at my father. "How long do I have till that statue gets here?" I asked, as my father paused and blinked a few times. "Two weeks I suppose" he said, as I smirked quickly picking up the sword in the cloth and ran to my workshop. I wanted to fix the sword by any means necessary it was going to be my final creation until I get my workshop back somehow.
