VIII: Ill News

The next day was cloudy, rain threatening to fall and soak all who dare to go outside. You were sprawled out on your bed with Wisp by your side, using your arm as a pillow and texting a few friends with her phone. Of course, she never really had any trust - worthy friends.

Prompto was positioned on the office chair under the desk, with Gladio and Cloud on the love seat. Noctis solemnly sat on the floor, leaning against the glass windows. Ignis came through the door, newspaper in hand, with a sorrowful look on his face.

"What's that look for?" Noctis shot as he stood and paced for a bit. Gladio also stood and walked over to be handed the paper.

"It's in all the papers." Ignis stated sadly. Gladiolus gazed over the parchment.

"What is?" Noctis replied back with confusion. Wisp sat up along with you. Cloud averted his gaze from his book and  unto the men standing.

Prompto wavered over Gladio's shoulders as the buff man read with suspicion.

"Insomnia... Falls?"

"What?!" Noctis bursted out. You had tears brimming your eyes.

"Is this your idea of a joke?" Noctis sputtered out.

"Noct just calm down-" You Ignis's voice off. Anger spewed out and your face burned.

"How is he supposed to calm down?! His own kingdom 'falls?' I-it was even my home..." Wisp held back your arms as you charged at Ignis, at least, tried to charge.

"The king was found... dead. Along with Prince Noctis and Princess Lunafreya."

"Lies..." Noctis recited. You were released as you dropped down to the floor, a sniffling and sobbing mess. Noctis was also aganoized, a traumatic experience indeed.

You stood arubtly, gazing downwards towards the floor. With a yank, the door opened and out you padded to the truck. Iggy sprang up to catch up to you, screeching and leaping up your leg.

A dark aura surrounded you as you exited the resort. The rain slowed, attempting to comfort you once the vehicles came into sight. Tears cascaded down your face at the thought of you beloved friends in Insomnia dieing with no reason.

"Y/N! Wait!" Prompto tried to run to you but Iggy jumped off to growl at the blond, showing a fierce look. You continued on until you reached the truck. Even the chocobos were silent as you boarded.

You stopped once you noticed the keys were not in your arsenal. A sigh escaped, Iggy looking silently at your form before handing you a pair of familiar keys in his mouth.

You grinned and gladly took the keys, starting the engine and taking off into the direction of Insomnia. The rain roared as the truck passed by, a few animals taking shelter.

Surprisingly, you got to the gates quickly. Magiteks lined the entrance, having no means of letting anyone through. Confidence boosted you out of the truck, bringing your fellow iguana along.

With a flick, there you summoned Shiva's sword. The gem was glistening with power, the scrap heads noticing and charging with guns, axes, and spears. You stopped with a glare, Iggy also taking charge in front of you.

You held out your hand towards the reptile, where it soon turned into a large dragon. Towering over the robots, Iggy's tail whipped around to take out at least five. You gasped in surprise, a blue light emmiting from your hand.

Your body was moving on its own, you questioning even how you held out your arm.
