(Jackie Chan Adventures) Lilly Rain: The Forgotten Demon's Daughter

Chapter 5

After Valmont and her got back to the human realm, Lilly decided to go see Jackie again. When she got to Uncle's shop though, he wasn't there.

"Hello Lilly," said Toru who was sweeping the shop.

"Where's Jackie?"

"He just left. A friend of his needed some help."

"Oh, do you know when he'll be back?"

"I'm not sure. Usually it takes him a while to help this particular friend."

"Oh that's alright. Are you and Uncle avaliable to talk instead?" She hadn't felt comfortable just calling Jackie's uncle Uncle, but she wasn't sure what else to call him. The only other name she had ever heard anyone use was sensei, and that was only Toru.

"Oh, uh I'll go ask him." He put down the broom and went to the back room to talk to Uncle. A few seconds later, they both came back.

"Yes," said Uncle.

"We'll, I wanted talk to you two as well as Jackie and Jade, but since there not here right now, I'll just talk to you two first."

"About what?" asked Toru.

"Well... about my father. I'don't like for Jackie to meet him, but I need to explain some things first."

"Like what."

"Well, for example," she breathed deeply, "this is really hard to say."

"It's alright. We won't judge you," Toru said gently.

Lilly smiled. "I'm sure you believe that, but you probably will." She took another deep breath. "The truth is, I'm not completely human. My father is Iro the sun demon."

"Do not be ridiculous," Uncle chided. "Uncle knows all the demons and there is no sun demon."

"Actually there is. Unlike Shendu and his other brothers and sisters, my father is good instead of evil. That's why almost know one knows about him. His brothers and sisters banished him hundreds of years ago for being good instead of evil like them."

"But if he was banished so long ago, then why are you so young ? And if your father's a demon, then why do you look human?" Toru asked.

"Because I'm not originally from this time period. Before he could be banished, he fell in love with my mother, a human sorceress. They had me, but knowing that my father's siblings would come after us, my mother brought us to this time period. Well twenty-five years ago that is. My mother being human is the main reason I look human, but although my father is a demon, he looks almost human. Here," she said pulling out a picture. "This is him." She showed them a picture of her next to her father.

"Wow," said Toru. "It's hard to believe."

"Well Uncle does not believe it. Uncle would know if there was a sun demon."

"Well when Jackie gets back, you could come meet him too."

"Very well, but only if Toru watches shop while I am gone."

"Of course sensei."

"Great! Jackie has my number so just have him call me when he gets back. Alright Toru?"

"Alright."

"Thank you both so much. I'll see you later." She turned around and left the shop.

"Uncle still does not believe."

"Of course sensei," Toru said calmly.
