VB Part 2 Chapter 14 |

Narrator's POV

Everyone is sitting by Ace who's still on the hospital bed and suddenly Jace's phone rings.

" It's Joe."

Everyone looks at Ace and her eyes are wide open. But then she suddenly says, " Tell him to come to the house in 2 hours. I'm going to talk to him."

Jace nods and answers his phone.

" Hello?"

" Hey dad I'll be there but I heard something's wrong with Acacia?"

" Yea, but she's fine now. Be by the house in 2 hours. We'll be there waiting for you."

"Alright! Can't wait to see all of you!"

" Yeah, we can't wait to see you either."

Jace hung up. He looked at Ace.

" He'll be there."

Everyone nods and the doctor comes in and a few minutes later Ace is ready to come out.

An hour later, they all finally get to Drew's mother's house.

What will he say when he sees me? Will he walk back out? Will he act like nothing happened when he walks in? There were many different thoughts that Ace had through her head.

" What are you going to do when Joe comes?" Ace asks her father.

" Acacia I should be asking you the same thing."

Ace looked up in the ceiling and around the room. There was an awkward silence and suddenly someone speaks.

" I should punch him," says Drew.

" No, don't do anything Drew, he didn't do anything to you," explains Ace.

"But he did something to my girlfriend that caused her to have more problems in her life. She shouldn't be living like this the rest of his life and he can just go on enjoying her day like nothing happened for the past 10-11 years! When he comes through that door I will knock him out."

Jace goes up to Drew.

" You're stepping up as a good boyfriend Drew, and I'm thankful for that, but that's not what we want right now. We want him to feel her pain, but not in a physical way. A mental and emotional way where he is able to feel Acacia's emotion for a long time."

Drew looks at Acacia's father.

"Okay, I understand, but what are going to do when he comes?"

Everyone looked at each other again. The atmosphere seemed like they didn't know what to do. They were all blank minded.

" Let's just all wait till he comes," offers Jace.

Everyone nods and sits in the living room watching T.V.

A few minutes later, a knock on the door sounds and makes everyone jump up.

Acacia's mother goes to check the peephole on the door.

"He's out there! "

" Bring him in!" Acacia calls out.

Ace's POV

My mother opens the door and out comes Joe.

" Hello Alanza!" Joe goes in for a hug.

My mother backs away denying the hug and waves a hello back.

Joe steps into the house awkwardly. "Okay."

" Hey Dad! Haven't seen you in awhile huh?"

My father looks at my stepbrother like he's a stranger.
