As soon as Gavin got home he started to read his book. He could not tell if it was true, though. Something about if the main mermaid was not there the coral along with all sea life would die. Also if the coral was yellow the main mermaid was not there yet to spread the special underwater pollen. He was sure that the underwater pollen had a scientific name but he did not judge. He heard that it happened around fall break.
He got to half of his book when his mom called. "Honey, come on down for dinner." "Okay be there soon." He replied. He shut his book and hid it under his pillow.
He went down and sat at the table. The soap was a yukky green, with ham in it, and a side of mash potatoes. As soon as looked at the soup he was unsure if he should eat it. What if it was poisoned? "Who made the soup?" He asked. "I did." His dad replied.
When he was done he brushed his teeth and got his pj's on. Then he went back down for a family council where they discuss plans for the month. When he got down they disgust meals and then finally fall break. Gavin's mom said they should go to the California Coast. Gavin thought it was weird that she was thinking of going to the California Coast. Then he knew what she was up to. She could capture the main mermaid while they were on the California Coast.
