"Wait," Malfoy stopped Hermione. "We just met this kid, and he was expelled from Hogwarts, and he's been homeless for who knows how long, and you're offering up your roof?" Malfoy asked.

"Don't forget that the ministry let the past be the past." I said coolly. Malfoy smirked at me. "Nice one." The waitress came back with our food.

"I understand your issue Draco, but look at him. I don't think that a boy should be that skinny." "Hey!" "Hush." She said. "Alright, how long should he stay?" "As long as he wants." Hermione said promptly.

"What?!" Malfoy and I said simultaneously. "No way." I said. Malfoy agreed nodding. "Or I can send you to an orphanage." Hermione said. "No you ca-" I stopped myself, I forgot she was an Auror. "Yeah you can." I said.

"So, what will it be?" She asked. "I'll stay at your place, until I can get a place of my own." "When will that be?" Malfoy said demanding.

Hermione shot him a look that screamed,'Draco!' "Soon, don't worry." I said calmly. There was a silence, eventually broken by Draco. "I gotta hit the loo, be back in a second."

I looked at Hermione as she watched him walk away. "You love him don't you?" "What?" She asked, putting down her coffee. "I know that look you gave him, I had that look on my face all of today."

"Pssh." She said. "You're a kid you don't know what love is." "Do you?" "I-" She looked at me. "Who is she?" "Alicia's her name. Met her in the library. That feeling is perhaps the best thing in the world."

"You met her and fell in love with her in the same day? Come off it." "Love doesn't work like that. He was on the other side of the war, and yet you love him right?" "No I don't, we're just... I don't know."

Hermione shifted uncomfortably in her seat. "When will Draco get back?" I smiled. "Am I making you uncomfortable?"  "No it's just-" "It's fine, you don't know if you love him or not, but eventually, it'll come to you."

He walked back to our table. "Sorry about that, what were you two talking about?" "Umm..." She said. "Diggle, she has an idea about where he might be."

She cleared her throat. "I do?" "Yes," I said, scarfing down a croissant,"Tell your boyfriend." "Uhh, there's rumors he could be in Kent." "Really, who said these rumors?"

"Alice did at work, yeah she was talking about it just the other morning." "Really?" (They were too engrossed in conversation to notice I had finished my croissants and was stealing Hermione's)

"Yeah, I think I heard one of my nurses say something too." He said looking at me. She looked down to her plate and said,"Where did my croissants go?" "Sorry." "It's fine."

Draco ate a piece of his crepe and said,"Mm, 'Mione, you gotta try this." "Sure," A little part of me said,'Aww, look at them, sharing food...'

He finished it up quickly. I said,"Sorry about interrupting your evening, it's obvious you had something planned out." I said, pointing to their nice clothes. "Oh its no problem." Draco said.

Draco stood up and pushed Hermione's chair in for her after she stood up. I made a mental note to myself that he probably did that out of instinct.

We walked to the apartment, and on the way, Hermione made a ferret joke that I didn't get, but they both laughed over it, and I looked at them awkwardly.

Donny almost tried to run after a cat, but I wolf-whistled and he came straight to my side sitting. "He seems well trained." Hermione noted. "Nah, he's just loyal. Right boy?" BARK!

At the apartment door I noticed that the number 23 was printed with gold lettering, weird. There was a pretty blonde lady in her kitchen.

"Oh hey Hermione how was you're date? Who's this?" "It went fine, this is Michael." "Hello." She smiled at me. "Nice to meet you, my names Luna." She said. I stood silent, smiling at her.

She looked at me. "Oh my, sit down Michael, I'll make you something to eat." "Thanks, Donny, balcony, now." He obeyed immediately. He ran past the living room into the balcony.

"Who was that?" Luna asked. "That was Michael's do-," Hermione corrected herself. "Friend, Donny." "Oh, he seemed large for a dog." Luna said, opening up the pantry looking for a pan.

I sat down with Hermione and Malfoy, and noticed Malfoy's arm, there was the dark mark sticking out a bit. He covered it up a little, noticing.

"You ever thought about getting it removed?" "Sorry?" He asked. "That," I said,"Getting that removed." "Oh uh, I don't really think I can."

"Hmm," I said. "You ever heard of The Pharaoh's Drought?" "The what?" Hermione asked. "Its an old idea I had in Potions class one evening. I designed a potion of my own, pixie wings, and unicorn tears mixed in a boiled snake blood for a half hour.

I realized the substance yielded would be so pure, it could heal any wound, OR wash away any sort of mark on someone's body." "I remember you!" Luna said as she cracked some eggs and started to boil them.

"You were a second year when I was in my seventh! Oh my, you were so small!" She strolled over to me and ruffled my hair.

I cleared my throat,"Ahem, uh Luna, you ever wondered who was it that returned your stolen items to you?" "Yes...Why?" "Well, it was me."

"Oh well, thank you, it was a kindness I think one person out of ravenclaw owed me." She said. I found her voice very... high and singsongy...

"When did you come up with this potion of yours?" Hermione asked. "A couple of years ago, I ran it past Slughorn and he said it checks out and I would be welcome to try it, only problem is the materials were insanely expensive." I replied.

"Do you really think it could work?" Malfoy asked. I nodded eyeing Luna's eggs that she was frying. "If you really wanted to know, you could get me the materials." I suggested.

Malfoy shook his head. "I was just wondering." "Do you want to remove it?" Hermione asked. Malfoy didn't answer. Luna interrupted, handing me my eggs.

I wolfed them down and said with a mouth full of egg,"They're delicious." "Thank you." Luna said smiling. I asked Malfoy ,"Have you seen Gladiator?" "What?"

"The film, it stars Russel Crowe, the man that starred in today's film." "Oh, well you saw it of course right?" Hermione asked. "Yes." "Well how?" "Uhhh..."

"The same way you saw today's film right?" Malfoy said. "Hey, I was living behind a dumpster, and I really enjoy films." I said sheepishly. Hermione noticed I stifled a yawn behind my hand.

She wasn't tricked. "I think its time we all go to our OWN beds." She said emphasizing to Malfoy. "Uhh.. what?" I asked. "Don't worry about it." 'Night.' Malfoy kissed Hermione on the forehead and left the apartment.

"Does he apparate to his house?" I asked Hermione. "No, he walks across the hall." "He lives across from you?" "Yes, here." She took out her wand and flicked it, the couch opened up into a bed.

"There." "Um, before I go to sleep, would you mind telling me where the blankets are?" "In a box by the bedside." I made my bed quickly and took out a blanket.

I opened the balcony sliding door put the blanket over a sleeping Donny. "Good night boy." I went back inside, changed into my boxers and slipped into bed.

Hermione flicked the lights and said to me,"Good night Michael." "Good night Hermione." Before she left, I said,"Hey Hermione." "Yes?" "You're not only the brightest witch of your age, you're also the kindest." "Thank you." She smiled at me, and left to her own bedroom.

I had the weirdest dream. I dreamed that Diggle made an omelette out of dragon eggs and he said,"Here you go Mikey, eat up mate."

I refused to, but Diggle just laughed and said,"Ha, of course you'll refuse brain food, you don't have any, that's why they kicked you out of Hogwarts."

"I thought you were family Diggle." "I was, until you stopped looking for me." Diggle said, eating the omelette. "I don't know where to start looking." I said.

"Hmm, if I was your family, maybe you'd look for me." He said. Then I dreamed I was wandering through the corridors of Hogwarts, except, no one was there. Eerie.
