Only the Avatar can master all four elements and bring balance to the world.
Or so we thought.
Korra began a new cycle of Avatar rebirth when she split from Rava. She ended the Era of Wan, and began the Korra Era of Avatars. The Spirit World and the Natural World became reconnected after the Harmonic Convergence. Korra's connection to Rava was restored thanks to a young Airbender who would become one of the greatest Masters of the New Age.
Korra died of old age, surrounded by her friends. She was 85 years old. She brought about a new connection between Spirits and the Physical World that had been lost for centuries. Yet, with her death there came a time of fear. Will there ever be a new Avatar? Many thought Korra would be the last Avatar, as her connection with all of the past Avatars were severed. As time went on, this only solidified this theory. Many began to believe that Korra was the last Avatar.
But they were wrong. Our story begins 35 years after Korra's death.
