Part eight: castle quest

I tried to make myself blend in with the stone cladding walls of the kingdom. Where was I going to start? It was a vast, tall wall and I started to doubt if I could really do it. Then, I thought of the boy, I had to get to him before my did mother, otherwise he'd be dead in no time. I reached up as high as possible and grabbed a large tile. From then on, I started to climb; inside leg outside leg, opposite hand opposite leg.

I was about halfway up, when I started to lose breath. My dress was holding me back and I could barely breath. So I only had one choice, I jumped back to the ground and took off my dress, so I was left only in my corset and skin tight garters. From then on, it was a lot easier and I finally made it to the top.

I reached up to the window sill, with both hands and tried to haul myself up, until I heard a voice in my room. My stomach sunk and I didn't breathe. I decided to be brave and hauled myself over the window sill, and landed face first on the marble floor. "Aghh!" I shouted in pain.
"Victoria? VICTORIA ITS YOU!" Someone cried, sounding ecstatic.
I recognised the voice, but it couldn't be.... could it? I lifted my head and saw his face, the same hazel eyes, the same slick hair... it was him!!!!
I hurriedly got to my feet and flung my body onto his. We both laughed. " how did you get here?" I finally asked,
" well, after I escaped, this was the first place I could think of. Victoria, you saved my life, when you screamed, all eyes were on you and I had time to escape!" He replied.
" well of course! I thought you really did.... you know."
My eyes travelled around the room and I noticed my surrounding, everything was ruined and torn up, " what happened here anyways?" I curiously asked.
" well they searched in every room for me, but I managed to hide under all of your clothes, by the way, your gowns are.... well were beautiful."
"Yeah, I don't think I can wear them anymore, they're covered in bricks and sawdust."
"Well knowing Victorian fashion, that could become the latest trend!"
We laughed again.
"It doesn't matter what happened to the dresses, I just care that your still alive!
Please, tell me your name..." I asked,
" oh! Yes of course, My name is Alexander,"
I blushed and looked at the ground.
We were sitting next to each other on the floor and his arms were around me. " it's been quite a while since I saw you last, I almost forgot the last time we met!" He said nervously.
I knew what he meant, last time we met, he was about to kiss me.
He came closer to me and put his arms on my waist. I placed my hand on his shoulders, I could feel his muscles loosening. His lips touched mine, and I wrapped my arms around him. He did the same thing. Afterwards, I looked up at him and we hugged. It felt like hours and hours, we talked about all sorts of things and I was enjoying myself.
After what felt like 3 hours, we were silent. " Victoria, I love you." He proudly spoke. I replied, "me too, I never want to lose you,"
I laid my head on his shoulders.

After a few minutes, we both jerked when someone opened the door. It was my fiancée, he was fuming with anger, like he expected that we would be there. "Well, well won't you look at that! I've caught you with another man once again, Victoria."
He grabbed alexanders hand and lifted him to his feet, afterwards, with full force, he thrust his fist across alexanders face, leaving him lying on the ground. He tried to lift me up, but I was way ahead of him, I kicked him down below, leaving him in pain and I pulled Alexander towards the door. " come on Alex, get up, we have to escape!"
Alex hurried to his feet and picked me up into his arms. We ran to a guest room, empty and remote. We heard my fiancée's footsteps and my eyes darted towards the balcony. " it's our only choice," he muttered.
I understood, so he placed on the floor and we held hands, "1.....2...." the door burst open...
"3!!!!!!!"
We jumped out the window, and air was slapping our faces......
