i stared out the car window as i examined every living and non living object that we drove past. yes, it was so mesmerizing but it was also making me a bit dizzy so i looked away. now instead i stared at Jackson.his hair was floppy and messy as it draped over his right eye. why doesn't he do something else with his hair? he didn't have freckles like me but his skin was just as pale as mine. is his skin as soft as mine too? his eyes were a bright shade of blue with black around the rim of the pupil and iris. how i would just love to get lost in those eyes.

"Iris, i can feel you staring at me, even when your wearing those shady sunglasses." he said nodding his head towards me but still not taking his eyes off the road.

"I-I'm s-sorry." i stuttered.

he let out a chuckle, "its fine."

what had just happened? why was i thinking all those things? soon enough i was asleep.

everything was wavy and it was really bright. except. there was a black blob in the horizon. when i got closer to it i could see it was Jackson. i started to run towards him until i reached his arms. i hugged him tightly and let out a long sigh as if i had been holding it in for years. he let go of me and he held my chin in his hand. he lifted my head up and i looked in his eyes. his eyes were so beautiful and they seemed to glow brighter than they ever had before.

"i love you, Iris." he said to me.

"i love you too." i replied and i meant it too.

he leaned down slowly and i waited standing on the tip of my toes. but that's all i did, i just waited and waited but nothing ever happened. then everything started to shake . . . .

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jackson was shaking me awake, "wake up sleepy head." he said.

i opened my eyes and started to look around. he had parked at the curb of a small park.

"jeez, i didn't know it was that hard to wake up the dead." he said playfully.

i gave him a death stare. he laughed and put his hands up in surrender, "okay okay, i get it. you are pretty cute when you're sleeping though."

i blushed. Why am I blushing? He always says stuff like that. he pointed at something outside the window. he was pointing not at the park but what was behind it. he was pointing at the woods, "you have arrived at your destination," he said smiling at me.

he opened the door of the car, got out, then closed the door behind him. he walked around the front of the car to the passenger side, where i was still sitting inside, and he opened the door. he held out his hand for me to take, so i gracefully slid my hand into his with no hesitation and he pulled me out of the car.

this wasn't uncommon.we are very familiar with each other so we don't really act like friends even though that's all we really are. i remember one time we were just walking along the street and someone came up to us and they said that we were such a cute couple. of course we explained to the person that we were just friends but i couldn't help but think, what if we were a couple?

"you ready?" he asked looking over at me. he was now holding my hand standing beside me, smiling.

"of course." i answered knowing exactly what was going to happen.

he let go of my hand and kneeled down. i jumped on his back and wrapped my arms around his neck making sure not to choke him. he then stood up and grabbed my legs making them wrap around his stomach. i layed my head on his shoulder closing my eyes.

"i know you must enjoy not having to walk every time we do this, but i think this time you're enjoying it a little too much," he implied, "you know to be honest you have been acting weirder than usual today." he was now walking toward the woods.

"oh, you really think so?" i asked, feeling just a little offended.

"yeah, you seem like . . . ," he paused as he searched for the right word, "flirty."

"oh, you really think so? What about you?" i said with a bit of an edge in my voice but now keeping to a whisper level.

"what was that?" he asked.

"um, nothing. now onward!"

"what am i, a horse?" he joked as he started jogging across the large field and toward the woods.

"no, but you are my angel in disguise," i replied happily.

"right back at you,"
