beep! beep! beep! bee- thwack! "oooooow." i groaned as i opened my eyes slowly to look at my pain shot hand. just a small bruise growing in the center of my palm, nothing much.
i put my hand down and started looking around my room quickly realizing it was all a blur. i groaned again reaching over to my nightstand (where i had previously damaged my hand on my alarm clock) to grab my glasses.
i then placed them on my head. "perfect fit." i said happily as i jumped out of my bed and slipped on my fluffy black slippers. i walked out of my dimly lit room, down the hall, and into the bathroom. at that point i was just staring blankly at my face in the mirror.
my long, curly locks were draped over my shoulders like a black waterfall. my face was pale with tiny freckles spotted all around my cheeks and my nose. my glasses were thick and boxy as they surrounded my full eyelashes and big eyes. and my eyes, well my eyes they're, special. they are a vibrant violet with a dash of grey, giving the illusion of purple and gray smoke. i never knew why i had eyes like these, with my mom and dad both having brown eyes, it seems quite impossible. i would think about this everyday, never knowing why and never coming closer to the answer.
i shook my head getting me back into life mode and out of my crazy daydreaming. i held a long sigh and headed out of the bathroom and back into my room. i did a running jump and face planted into my mound of blankets on top of my bed. instead of actually doing something with my life i just stayed laying there, with my limbs sprawled all over the place.
just before i was about to drift off to sleep i heard a faint tap on my window. i thought it was just a figment of my imagination so i didn't bother to get up, but then i heard it again. thinking i was being ambushed by flying rocks i rushed to my window to see what was going on and in fact it was not flying rocks but just my best friend, Jackson. i smiled widely and opened my circular window so i could greet him.
"Jackson, what the hell are you doing here?!" wow what a great way to greet someone Iris
"well good morning to you to, i just stopped by to see if you wanted to take a mysterious walk through the woods with me." he said sounding quite pleased with himself.
i answered him with a quick nod of the head.
"great i will wait here, you go get dressed."
i rushed to my closet leaving the window wide open. i picked out a black dress with white outlines of eyes printed all over it, some knee high black socks, 80's sunglasses (with my prescription), a necklace with a black rabbit foot, and my signature black sunhat. i then went into the bathroom smeared some black lipstick on and ran downstairs.
Jackson was now waiting at the front door for me so i went over and opened it for him and he thankfully walked in.
"sorry i took so long." i said then feeling guilty that i left him standing outside by himself.
"no no, not at all. i have to say that was record timing and you still look gorgeous, wacky outfit and all." he said with a sly grin.
i blushed slightly not knowing whether that was meant to be taken as a compliment or insult. instead of making a big deal about any of the things he just said, i just put my combat boots and leather jacket on and grabbed my bag.
when we both got out the door i slammed it shut and locked it. then to my surprise Jackson took my hand and started pulling me towards his car. my dream car. a matte black 2016 automatic transmission delorean. ever since i saw back to the future i have wanted one of these cars and it kind of made me jealous that my best friend did have one and somehow i didn't.
anyway without wasting any time i threw open the futuristic doors and hopped in the passenger side. when i got in i closed my eyes and just started soaking everything in.
"mmmmmmmmmmmmm."
"um, you okay?" Jackson asked sounding a bit worried.
"never been better." i replied as i scooted back in my seat.
"whatever you say, Iris."
and with that we zoomed off.
