i stood in front of Jacksons closed door and took a deep breath before knocking on the door. i could hear a muffled 'come in, Iris' come from the inside of the room and as he had told me to i turned the knob and let myself in.

when i opened the door i was relieved to see that he was still fully dressed, laying on his bed, and scrolling through his phone.

the whole room was really dark and he was just sitting in the middle of all the darkness. "can i turn the light on?" i asked as i closed the door which only added to the darkness.

he replied with a simple "no."

i just furrowed my brow and started walking toward his bed where he was sitting. he patted the empty space next to him notifying me to sit down as well, so again i did as told and sat down next to him.

"whats wrong?" he asked.

"why would you think somethings wrong?" i said, crossing my arms across my chest. he just looked at me suspiciously.

i sighed and instead just told him. "you are keeping things from me and i cant stop thinking about what it is that you might be keeping from me." i ranted.

"fine, what do you want to know?"

"well, first of all i want to know about this." i said, pointing to the clothes that he had let me borrow for the night.

he put his phone down and reached over to his nightstand to turn on his lamp. i blinked at the sudden change of lighting, trying to make my eyes adjust faster.

he sat crossed legged and turned so he was now facing the side of me. i turned as well so that we were now sitting knee-to-knee. "its for you." He said nodding his head towards me.

"why?"

he shrugged. "i just thought you would like it for when you slept over." he admitted. "i mean like you do crash at my place a lot and you have been doing it more lately too, so i thought that if you had something here it wouldn't be a problem . . . i mean you sleeping over wouldn't be a problem."

"Jackson, that's the most . . ." i paused for dramatic effect, " . . . stupid thing i have ever heard!" i shouted as i grabbed one of his pillows and threw it at him. he shielded his face with his arms and leaned back just enough for him to fall of the bed.

"oh. fuck." i crawled across the bed and peeked over the edge to see him laying on the floor giggling to himself.

i didn't ask if he was okay because i knew he hated it when people asked him that and instead i hopped off the bed and landed on his stomach. he grunted and i laughed. "ow." he whimpered.

i was sitting crossed legged on top of him and didn't stop to think that maybe i was just a little heavy. "sorry." i smiled sheepishly. he only smiled in reply.

i got a glimpse of his eyes and started staring in awe. he was absolutely beautiful and his eyes complimented his dark hair perfectly. whenever i saw him he made me melt.

i bet other girls think the same.

"Iris, can you get off of me please." he pleaded.

"oh yeah, sure." i chuckled and jumped off of him quickly. "Um I don't think I have ever told you this, but I really like your eyes."

He nodded his head as if he was in deep thought. "Well I do think I remember you saying that they were mezmerising."

I tried to think about the time I had said that and then it hit me."Oh. Um, yeah."

"But I like your eyes too."

I beamed at the compliment. It was very rare that he ever complimented me and he actually had been doing it a lot today which was surprising. "You do?"

"Absolutely."

"Well thank you. That makes me happy you would say something like that."

"Why wouldn't I say something like that? All of you is beautiful, not just your eyes."

I froze. What was happening had never ever happened. He had given me compliments at times but he usually joked around as he did it. And now he was telling me to my face. He was serious. He really did think I was beautiful.

When I had finally come to my senses I got off the floor and went back in the bed. I layed on my back as I stared at the painting of stars. "Goodnight." I said calmly.

Out of the corner of my eye I could see him jump up, now standing. "Goodnight? Really, Iris? Really?"

"Yes, really."

"Fine." He said before climbing in the bed and laying next to me.

"What's up with your eyes?" I continued talking.

God I'm annoying.

"Explain."

"They seem magical, like they hold a great secret that I will never be able to uncover." That's what his eyes looked like. They looked caged in But also like they had the power to do other worldly things. Things that he obviously didn't want to tell me about.

I continued once more. "Your eyes they calmed me down when I was laughing like crazy. I didn't do that myself. I know I didn't. So just tell me. . . What had you done?"

I could almost feel his nervousness after I had asked him that question and there was a long pause until he spoke again. "I will tell you when the time is right."

I thought about this for a while until finally agreeing with him, even though he didn't make any fucking sense to me.

"Good." He said happily.

We continued to talk about  our dreams and hopes for the near future just like we had done as kids and I soon had fallen into a deep slumber.

He thinks I'm beautiful.
