24. Puppy

You and Max were living together now for about a year. You both absolutely loved it, but you felt like there was something missing. It didn't really bothered you, but Max didn't Like it at all.

Today the two of you were walking through the streets of the little village you lived in. You were walking for about 20 minutes when you passed a man, about 30 years old. He was lying on a small field, playing with a puppy. You smiled at the adorable sight of it.

When you were past the man, Max opened his mouth to talk.

"(Y/N)?" he asked

"Hmm" you answered

"Do you still feel like something's missing at home?" Max asked

"Yeah, kinda..." you answered a little sad

"Well.... How about we get a puppy?" Max asked excited

''WHAT?!'' you asked shocked

''yeah!'' he said, realizing what he just said. ''Think of it. There will always be someone to take your mind of things, always someone to keep you company, or like, when I'm of to a race and you're home alone''

''I like the idea, Max, but it's a big responsibility...'' you said, a bit disappointed

''Yes it is, but so is buying a house, and living together.'' Max said softly

''Urghh...'' you said ''I hate it when you're right'' you said, looking at Max who was smiling bright.

''But we're not gonna rush into getting one!'' you warned him.

''No, of course not!'' Max smiled while giving you a little peck on the lips.

When you returned home, you both immediately started to search for information about dogs, and that's how you spend the rest of your day.

~ TWO MONTHS LATER ~

After two months of searching information, you decided that today was the day you were gonna get a puppy! You both wanted to get a puppy from the shelter. You didn't mind the breed, it was just important that you both had a click with the puppy.

When you arrived, Max immediately started to look at the puppies, while you asked for a staff member. You looked over at Max and saw him playing with a really cute corgi pup. It was a very happy little dog and you thought it was absolutely adorable.

The staff member showed you all the available puppies and your heart melted at every single one of them. Than the staff member left you alone, so you could decide which puppy you wanted to take home. You thanked her and turned around to find Max playing with the little corgi again.

''Isn't he cute, (Y/N)?'' Max asked without even looking at you

''Yes, he's adorable'' you said, kneeling down beside him

''I think I know which one I have a connection with'' Max laughed

''I think we both know'' you answered him

''So... this is the one?'' the staff member asked

''yes'' you said while smiling at Max, who was obviously very excited

On your way home, the puppy was sitting on Max' lap.

''(Y/N) we don't have a name for him yet!'' Max said shocked

''Well... any ideas?'' you asked him

You could see he was thinking really hard.

''MICKEY!'' Max said suddenly

''I like that'' you told him

''You're gonna be home in just a few minutes, Mickey'' Max said to the dog

Once you were home, you were playing with Mickey the whole time. Maybe you played a little too much because after an hour, Max was sleeping on the floor, with Mickey lying on his chest.
