Your POV

Everything hurt. Maybe it was from exhaustion or the drugs, but you were eager for something to make it stop. After a while of lying still, relief flooded through your body in, most likely, the form of pain relievers.

Upon opening your eyes, you were unpleasantly greeted by fluorescent lights directly above you. However, after turning your head and clearing your vision, you were pleasantly surprised to see Spencer.

"Spence," you said, your voice coming out a bit scratchy. His eye sprang up to meet yours.

"Oh my god, y/n, you're awake!" he exclaimed with a smile. You simply nodded, reaching your hand out toward him. He immediately moved his chair closer to your bed and grabbed your hand, holding it tightly, but still being gentle, as he always is.

"Foyet. Did they catch him?" you asked, suddenly remembering all the details of what had happened.

The look on Spencer's face suddenly changed drastically. With the hand that he wasn't holding yours with, he scratched the side of his neck nervously. "Uh," he started, but hesitated before continuing, "no, they didn't. He got away, but I promise you'll be safe, y/n. You're going to stay with me until they catch him."

Your heart speed up like two cars on a race track. He was still out there.

Spencer's POV

After y/n had been in the hospital for long enough, they finally discharged her. With the company of two police officers and Morgan, we headed back to my apartment.

"You've gotta stay alert, pretty boy," Derek said just as I was starting to get lost in my daydream about y/n.

"I know, Morgan. I'm going to keep her safe, I promised her," I replied, gazing over at her sleeping face. She was beautiful. Even more so when she was in such a peaceful state. I definitely did not mind watching over her for however long I needed to.

Later that night, after Morgan and the cop left, I sat next to y/n on the couch. "It's getting late, I think I'm gonna go to sleep," y/n said with a stretch and a yawn.

I nodded, smiling at her. "If you need anything, just come get me. Or scream. Which ever you prefer," I said, laughing lightly. My response earned a giggle before she disappeared into the bedroom.

I was woken from my light sleep when a scream rang out. "SPENCER!!" y/n's voice shrieked from my bedroom. I immediately jumped up from the couch, sprinting the short distance into the room.

"What's wrong?!" I asked once I was inside. There was no more noise, other than soft sobs escaping y/n's mouth. Quickly and quietly, I made my way over to the bed. "Don't cry, y/n. It's okay I'm right here. You're okay."

I wrapped my arms around her, rubbing her back softly to try and calm her down. I swear my heart skips a beat every time we touch. "Spence, please don't leave me," she said after finally containing her tears.

"I'm not going anywhere," I said, slipping under the covers and holding her close like I would every night from that point on.
