The sound of chatter came from the room up ahead. I stopped before continuing on. What am I going to say? Or better yet, what will I say to those men? I mean, I can't say "hey I had a dream about you last night." Or "What the hell were you doing in my dream last night?!" It's not like I can avoid them forever. I guess I just have to suck it up. I inhale deeply and walk in. Everyone looks straight at me, awaiting orders. "Ok team. Today we are going to check out the Coalescence main tower. That as you know, is where we believe this started with my old friend Kane. The place should be clear but that doesn't mean caution isn't needed here. Everyone understand what you need to do?" "Yes Ma'am!" They answer. The men from last night look at me like perfect soldiers, like nothing happened last night. "Ok, let's move out!" I say as we make our way to the destroyed tower. Memories flash inside my head. Making me relive the whole thing. I stop, and let them play. "Hey, you still with us?" I hear as a hand was placed on my shoulder. I turned to look, Markus was behind me, smiling with a worried look. "Yeah, I'm fine." I say as I turn back around and continue walking. We walked around the place looking for the chamber. You would think I would remember but, for some reason I don't. Maybe that was one of the parts I purged. I'll thank myself later for that. What felt like forever, I found it. The memories started up again. But they were worse then the last time. With much hesitation, I opened the door. The oxygen levels were stable. I guess the gas was filtered. I walk in very slowly. "Hold the door" I said as I continued in. I looked down. I shouldn't have but I saw her. Dead. Kane was there on the ground with boils and chipped skin. My mind couldn't take it. I ran out fast. I sat down. I screamed and cried to the flash back that ran through my head. "You, go look around. I'll look after her." I heard a voice say. The black haired man who looked too much like Hendricks sat down next to me. "Hey, it's ok. It's just a bad memory. My name is Jameson." Finally I get his name. we were alone for a few minutes as I tried to calm down. "Thanks." I say as I get back up. "Ma'am, I think you may want to come look at this" as one of the men call from inside. As I walk in I see tons of creatures walking towards us. "Get out your weapons. I don't know if our Dni has any affect on them." We fight through the hoard trying to clear the area. Everyone was looking to find higher ground. My bullets run out. Of course they run out in a place where there is no mobile armories, or ammo crates. I pull out my pistol. They surrounded me and the team. What looked like the end soon turned into a hail of gunfire, but not at me for once. They mowed down every last undead looking creature till all that was left was a staircase of dead undead (wow what a oxymoron!) bodies. I looked up. It took me a minute but I recognized the gunfire and style of shooting. But the voice that came after made my eyes go wide, my legs limp, and the tears back to my eyes. "Hey. Glad to see your still with me." I couldn't believe the person I saw in front of me. "Oh my God...your still alive!" I say back to the voice. The figure moved his way into the light. I swear my eyes were playing tricks or my tech was in need of fixing. He stood in the doorway like nothing ever happened. But that's just him. Thats just his style. That's just Hendricks.
