Chapter Four
So Devin and Robert knew of my curse. I couldn't hurt anything, not even the floor, without the pain I caused it coming to me. I'd learn two things: how to be light on my feet and how to block out the headache. It felt as if someone were stepping on my head. The lighter I was on my feet, the smaller the headache. But, again, thankfully I'd been ably to ignore it for years now. I guess the floor doesn't like me walking on it.
I never let anyone give me dolls or stuffed animals in fear of dropping it or breaking it. I didn't allow myself to get near pets in fear of hurting them. I never threw the dodgeballs in gym., thinking I would hurt the ball and the person I threw it at. I'd missed out on so much.
But Devin and Robert never knew the full extent of my curse. They didn't know it happened with objects, too. They only thought it was people. Objects, people, monsters, meat--pretty much everything but air and vegetarian food--anything I could break or hurt, I kept my distance from. That being said, I wasn't exactly a people person.

The nectar worked like magic. I was feeling almost perfect by lunch. After lunch, one of the girls I had hurt from Ares's cabin came up to me. "Hey! You're the new girl who broke my rib!" she shouted after me.
"Um, hi?"
"Oh, you're going to pay!" She picked me up and slung me over her shoulder. What a big ugly brute. I just laid there. She probably expected me to fight back. I just laid there bored. "Did you hear? The Ares cabin is the unofficial welcome comity!" I didn't know where she was carrying me, but I was starting to get worried. "Yeah, we're going to give you a drink of camp's finest water supply!"
A knot tied in my stomach. "I'm sorry about your rib. Will you please put me down?"
She laughed an evil laugh. "Apology declined." She soon walked up to the lake, put me down, grabbed me by the shirt and started dunking me over and over. "Drink up, kid.
Devin burst in with Robert behind her. "Put her down, Gina!"
"Make me, nerd!" I gasped for breath between each dunk. Eventually she put me under and held me there. I tried as hard as I could to get up. Finally, I resorted to my last option. I kicked her in the face as hard as I could. She dropped me and I squirmed to get up. "Ow!" She screamed. Both of our noses were bleeding from the kick. "You little--"
"That is quite enough!" Chiron shouted. Apparently he had appeared there a few seconds after Devin and Robert did. Great, now he knows about my stupid curse!
