After recess, we went inside for my favorite class subject of the day; reading. Mrs. Isode (I•SOwdE) is super nice. She gives us almost no homework and allows us to read or write usually half the class time. I'm writing this good book (although it could be terrible, I never asked anyone) on World War Two. I was in the middle of chapter three when the bell rang.
Then I had the usual math, social studies, science classes. I had math and science classes by Sarah Allison and Emma, so we sat by each other. They kept asking me what had happened with Blehnifer. I didn't know what to say.
At social studies, I only had Allison sitting by me. Blehnifer and Jonas were in this class too.
I never noticed this before, but Jonas came over to me and sat down. Blehnifer followed, all flirtatious and glitzy (Sarah looked those up in a dictionary on our sleepover last week). We started class. There was a group project we had to do on the French Revolution (Who cares!!). Mrs. Pruis was calling out names for partners. "Lucy and Jacob, Pete and Henry, Lily and Jonas, Adam and Jenifer,"
I couln't hear what she said next. My heart was thumping as I looked over at Blehnifer. She looked as though she could kill the world. I hear Jonas do a little yes! before immediately stopping when he saw Jenifer's death stare.
We started working on our project. Jonas said, "I hate Social studies." I said, "I know! Who cares about the French Revolution anyways?" We talked a little bit about the French Revolution, then the bell rang, and we left.
As we left, I heard lots of whispering and many people pointing at me. When Blehnifer came up, smug, I knew something was up. "How do you like hanging around the guy you PAY MONEY to hang around?" Everyone chuckled, a few looking at me, sympathetic. "I don't... he doesn't... who?" I finally got out. Jenifer sings playfully, "My boyfriend, you loser!"
I walked away, confused.
