Luck. Such an interesting word. And an even more interesting meaning.

The Oxford English Dictionary describes it as, "Chance considered as a force that causes good or bad things to happen."

The Merriam-Webster dictionary describes it as, "a force that brings good fortune or adversity."

And Dictionary.com says that it's, "the force that seems to operate for good or ill in a person's life, as in shaping circumstances, events, or opportunities."

Let's stop there. One this they all have in common...is force. And that's the powerful effect of something. Some people don't believe in luck. That a strange "force" can't determine your fate, but when you really look at it...it's everywhere. From the basic things like a game of Bingo, or winning the lottery. That's all luck, chance. Then there's scenarios when you're running from wolves in the woods and you come across a ravine. And there just happens to be a fallen tree truck right next to you, connecting the two sides.

How did that tree get there? From lighting? A storm? Wind? Human activity? But why was it, right there, and not 20 feet to the right? One can never answer. Sometimes though, luck is all we have. I'm not saying to believe in anything if you don't. I'm just saying that from my view, the world is all chance. And I'm just "lucky" to be alive. ;)

Clovers

We may believe ourselves superior,

That nothing stands in our guided path.

Like a stallion in the silver mist,

The supreme lord of night and day.

But really, we are no more than clovers,

Sitting idly amongst others,

And every once in a while, we find luck.
