If Only You Knew

You Will Never Understand

First of all, I don't mean to insult anyone :) The global federations that protect wildlife are doing the best they can, and I absolutely appreciate it and thank them from the bottom of my heart. But I know that we can do better. We can do so much more than we think ourselves capable. Animals are becoming endangered because of what we do. Because of us, these innocent creatures are suffering. We shouldn't let it happen. But we do. There are so many people trying to help, but sometimes it doesn't work. Just because someone says to the world, "We are severely impacting Mother Nature in a negative way and we must do something to stop it." But in reality, does it really happen? Do people really listen?        

You Will Never Understand

I hate the way you look at me.

Those lifeless eyes staring with fake adoration;

I don't need your pity

I don't need your food.

Yet you keep acting as if I want it.

I don't.

You think you're helping me,

Is that so?

Then why have you caged me

And my soul?

Is that what I am to you?

A display behind glass?

So you can make profits

By having people watch me

Like I'm an alien?

You don't care.

You never have.

Going off to serious meetings,

With a cover up to the world.

Discussing useless things,

Talking behind my back.

You say you're here to help me,

You say you always have.

But every time I look at you,

I see the heart of a person,

Who doesn't seem to care.

I am currently writing a research paper about the species that are becoming endangered because of global warming. I read some sad things, and my mind instantly became upset with humanity once again. I should be working on it right now but...XD
