Finally Found Us (Josh Dun x Reader)

·Chapter 18: The Excitement·

It had been about a month and a half since you had seen Josh.

And you were dreading him coming back. You wanted to work things out of course, but at the same time, you were never really the best at dealing with your problems effectively.

Although you werent on good terms with him, you mussed him a lot.

He was your husband, after all. And the one you loved. And the father of your child and soon to be child.

Your mind was like a warzone. Trying to decide if you should be okay with the thought of Josh, or angry.

"Hey... Earth to (Y/N)!" Jenna snapped her fingers in front of you, snapping you out of the trance.

"Are you going to help me eat this giant cookie or what?" Jenna asked, pointing at the pan she had just taken out of the oven.

The two of you loved cooking random things. And you had found a way to use most of the supplies you had in the kitchen in various ways.

"Hell yea!" You declared.

This time you had decided to make,a giant cookie since you were craving sweets.

Jenna cut the cookie in half, allowing both of you to eat half of it evenly.

Neither of you ever bothered getting a plate, either. Both of you just broke pieces off and ate them.

"This is sooo good." Jenna said with a mouthful of cookie. "I know right. This was such a good idea." You said, your voice equally as muffled by the cookie in your mouth.

"So..." You began, swallowing the cookie.

"Really off topic." You started again. "But, the time when I figure out if I'm having a boy or girl is going to be about when the boys come back." You explained.

"But they wont be back yet. So, I was wondering if you would-" "I WOULD LOVE TO COME WITH YOU!" Jenna answered before you finished, her eyes sparkling like diamonds.

You couldn't help but laugh. However, mid-laughter, the phone rang. When you looked at the caller ID, your stomach dropped.

"Hello!" You said with fake happiness.

"Hi dear!" Josh's mom said happily on the other end.

"Who is it?" Jenna mouthed to you curiously. "Its Laura." You mouthed back, causing Jenna's eyes to widen.

"I was just checking to see if you're home. I'm bringing something over for you if you dont mind!" She explained.

"Yea that's fine!" You replied. "Its just Jenna and I. Come on over!" You added. Jenna's jaw dropped a little, realizing what was happening.

You and Laura talked for a couple more seconds before hanging up the phone.

"OH MY GOD." You yelled, which distracted Spencer while he was watching TV. "Mom! You're causin' a ruckus! Sh!" Spencer turned around, putting his finger to his lips.

For whatever reason, your son liked watching westerns on TV. But only on Thursdays.

This caused you and Jenna to laugh a little, releasing some of the stress from the situation.

There was a little knock on the door, and you looked at Jenna, scared.

You opened the door, a smile plastered on your face. "Hello! How are-" You were cut off by Laura hugging you.

"Is everything okay?" You asked, confused as to why she was doing this.

"Josh told me everything." She replied simply. This caused tears to well up in your eyes. "He will come around. I'm sure. I know he seems mad now, but it will get better dear." She said, rubbing your back a little.

This caused you to cry a little more. Having support from Laura meant a lot. Especially now.

When you pulled away from the hug, she handed you a small pan. In the pan was a little cake. And it was your favorite kind.

"Thank you Laura." You smiled, wiping your tears away with one hand. "That's no problem." She said with a smile. "Come on in. I'm sorry for making you wait out here this whole time." You apologized and stepped back, letting her walk in.

"Grandma!" Spencer jumped up, and ran towards her. "Hey buddy!" She said, hugging him for a moment.

"Hello Jenna!" Laura greeted her too. Jenna greeted her too, giving her a smile. She seemed more at ease now that she knew Laura wasnt mad.

"Mom, what does pergant mean?" Spencer asked, super confused.

"Do you mean pregnant?" You corrected him with a laugh.

Laura had just left, so it was just you, Jenna, and Spencer.

"Yea! You guys said it a lot." He sighed. He got easily frustrated when he didnt understand a word.

"Well." You sat down, fluffing his hair into place.

"Right now, I have a baby in my stomach." You smiled. You had never really explained it to him before because he would have been confused.

"Like, a person baby?" He said, wide eyed. "Yes a human baby." You chuckled. "So you're going to be a big brother soon." You smiled.

Spencer's eyes lit up. "Like the people on my TV shows!" He smiled. Then a look of realization washed over him. "That's why your belly got bigger!"

You nodded in response. "Yep!" You agreed. "So I have someone to play with!" He said, realizing more and more. You agreed to all of his thoughts, but that definitely didn't stop him from talking.
