Supriya's

I could not put my finger on this issue despite, the fact I had spent five years working on these ''Unsolvable'' murders. ''Come on, Supriya think! Killing of husbands...Navarathri but, why?''

''Navarathri, this is the biggest hint, I have right now!''

''I recall the celebration of Navarathri, the nine days of worship dedicated to Godess Durga to kill the mahishasur the, demon who was plagued with sins!''

I decide to google about this mythological demon who seems to hold an infamous ranking in this festivity. I went on to research pulling out facts about him yet, I seemed to stumble upon alternating versions about him yet, the content about him was the same.

His deal with Brahma, the hindu god of creations was to attain immortality. However, due to universal laws that boon was impossible for Bramha to grant. Binded, by the universal laws he decided to achieve that boon some how.

When he was writing his own fate, the universe conceived one of its own. Parvati, was known to be the virtous wife of Shiva, the mother of the universe and the dear mother of Ganesh and Karthikeya. She was known for her soft and mellow ways of a dear wife and a mother.

Yet, beneath the sweet Parvati there was Durga and a Kali, the fiercer personalities who would take shape when, her needed.

Mahishasur was wrecking havoc upon the earth and other realms as such, the time for the Goddess to spring into action. Mahishasur saw her, and lusted after her. She declined him stating that she was virtous and a married woman, her heart and herself was for Lord Shiva.

Mahishasur insulted her and Lord Shiva. Her calm demeanour disappeared into the thin air however, a torando of anger swept through her. She immediately called him for a duel.

With an arrogant laugh and the irrational thought that a woman could not slay him took over his senses. Soon the epic ''Navarathri'' began.

Durga's epic battle on her vehicle being lion, the symbol of bravery and, often symbolised as bravery. She rode on the lion with ten hands containing the trident, the conch and a sword.

On the tenth day, it was said that she pierced a trident through his chest as it was his ill-intentions lied upon, destroying it once and for all.

Thoughts just flooded through me, how a woman killed a man and how the story was intertwined into the murders.

''Wait a minute, Supriya!''

"Demon being killed, husbands being killed!''

I quickly fetched a paper and pen from the table and drew a stright line in the middle, and another on the the right side.

I wrote Lord shiva on one margin, murdered husbands and Mahishasur.

I wrote down what I knew about Lord Shiva as a husband, he was known for making his wife equal in the pedestral showing the world how a woman is equivalent to a man and, that importance should be given in husband and wife relationship!

The murdered husbands were abusing their wives, verbally and phyiscally. Some of them raped their wives, did not treat them as their other halves and saw them as objects that they could meet to their needs and satisfaction.

Mahishasur, He lusted for sins to cause chaos and loved to inflict pain on others. He was known to be the renowned demon for his sins! He was known for his underestimation of women when requested for that haughty boon from Bramha.

I knew I was getting somewhere. I took another paper and drew another line against the paper. I wrote Parvati on one side and, killer wives on the other. The obvious trait was women. Calmness and softness. The ''perfect''Indian wife. Bingo!
