THE NAVARATHRI MURDERS

Unsolvable?

Inspector Raj:

It's been two days since the hype of Navarathri celebration extinguished just like an lit incense stick, both fulfilling the purpose of devotion and, appeasing the devotees ritual of, appeasing their deities through a set of, customary practices handed down from the previous generation to the next one. However, contrary to my thought sub-inspctor barged into my cabin and, laid a file with a deadpan look.

"Is anything wrong, kar? "as, I saw him looked as if he had just been slapped by a ghost. ''Raj, another murder had just occoured.....'' I heard him drag this statement and,  knew what he is going to say next.

''Another man was killed, actually make it three..''

''What on bloody hell, do you mean Karan?, normally each time of this year it has always been just one murder? ''

He was taken aback, by me shocking by rage and ''it has always been just one murder''. I know I seem heartless and savage beast. However, I had become immune to over the years of dealing with this ''Navarathri murders''! 

In the records itself, it has been deemed as unsolvable. Funny thing is that we know the culprits but, we can never dechiper how they have gone missing thirty long years and still counting. The reasons are evident that they were subjected a abusive domestic life and life long suffering. It lead to a decline of their mental state and they killed their other half.

But, what seems fishy though is the fact that during this period of the year, all the men who had died in the hands of their wives had been killed in either a similar way or same way. Always, the post-mortem reports cite that a heavy force was adminstered upon the left side of the chest region and crushed ribs. 

Always at the scene of the crime there will be wordings on the wall, quote ''Pati parmeshwar'' and a rod would have been jammed against the wording on the wall.

Which made me question was this work of a cult? a larger organisation? Since, I believe in beliefs and village myths and rumours, it could very well have been the work of Maa Durga herself? Who would know? I guess only time will tell.....
