Inspector Raj shared his own findings narrating how the priest observed women being drawn to the painting even, he remarked something was off as to how the eyes were alive and watching the thoughts that we have and had at the moment.
As I went to the temple myself to take a look at the Goddess he proclaimed to be 'Alive', I saw women lining up to seek the blessings of the Goddess. I was soon joined by Rekha to take a look at the Goddess.
She did look very alive and, I felt her eyes were set on me. An uneasy feeling set in me as, I averted my eyes but, I felt even more uncomfortable as thousand other eyes were staring from each direction. It compelled me to look back at the Goddess who made me look back into my past.
I graduated with great grades but, I could not be happy about it. My ex-boyfriend ditched me knowing I would not abort the child that was growing in me. I moved away from home for my parents not to find out that I had concieved a child but, the physical distance soon, became a distance from our hearts.
They found out about my twins a year later. Devasted they left me desolate and telling me not to contact them.
My ex-boyfriend faced the biggest punishment any man could never bear in his life. He lost his manhood in a car accident followed by a depression phase which prompted him to take his own life away.
It didn't matter to me anyway his manhood was useless anyway. The only good thing that came out was his ability to procreate so, it was no different he was never a man.
My thoughts broke off and I looked at Maa Durga. She did not look like a war goddess but, rather a mother who puts her kids before herself. Her smile resonated with my thoughts as I felt stronger as a woman and a mother.
Raj was not delusional, he did say something was off but, in a right way. Something about her gave me a refreshed outlook and a glimpse of my journey from a girl to a strong woman who battles her unseen enemies. Was I the modern day Durga?
