As days went on both carmilla and Laura acted normal. Laura would complain about Carmillas hair clogging up the shower, Carmilla would flirt but nothing else has happened since that first kiss.
"Hey frosh" LaF said to Laura as she walked into the room. Laura was at her desk, daydreaming, when she heard LaF she jumped "oh you scared me there LaF, how you doing?"
"Yeah I'm good thanks, just been researching some stuff for a new project I've got going on. Hey did you hear about the missing girls?"
"No, I haven't heard anything, what's with it?"
"Well, apparently there's been two girls that have went missing lately and their roommates have gotten weird cryptic messages with multiple choice answers saying that their roommate has went home that they were not enjoying 'The Silas Life' how weird is that"
As Laura listened she got nervous, she didn't know why she was nervous she just was.
"Wow that is weird, is the Dean doing anything about it?"Laura had a bad feeling about this.
"Not that I know of, it's seems that the Dean is trying to get it put under the rug if you know what I mean, but hey, what do I know. Listen I gotta get back before Perry starts to worry, I'll see you later Laura"With that LaF left Laura to her thoughts, things were weird at Silas and Laura knew this but if something bad was happening to girls and no one was doing anything about Laura felt guilty. That's when she decided that she was going to make it her business.
For the rest of the day Laura sat her desk reading stories of girls that have went missing around the Silas campus and she was shocked to find that it goes back 20 years. Each time the same thing happened. A young girl would go missing, her roommate would receive a weird message and that would be it, no one would report it or try and find these girls. Laura sat at her desk, she felt sad at the fact that no one had cared enough for all these girls to even try and figure it out.Carmilla entered the room she shared with Laura to find her roommate making another one of her videos. Carmilla rolled eyes and lay on her bed, took out a book and started to read, her book was interesting but then again the Catcher in the Rye was always going to be interesting to her. She was attempting to read a sentence and she found herself reading the same sentence over and over again. The more she listened to what Laura was saying to her little followers the more distracted she was from Holden Caulfield.
"So yeah from what I've been able to research guys it seems that these girls have been disappearing for a while now and it started 20 years ago."
When Carmilla heard what Laura was talking about her heart started to beat twice as fast, her stomach felt queasy and she felt vile rise in her throat.
"How could Laura know about these girls" thought Carmilla."Hey cupcake, what are you doing?" Carmilla asked with a shaky voice.
"Oh hey, yeah so LaF came in to see me today and she told me about girls that have went missing, I got curious and decided to look into it and it seems that there's been girls disappearing for up to 20 years ago, it's quite sad really"The guilt that Carmilla felt was almost unbearable.
"I realised that no one is going to do anything about these missing girls so I've decided to use my journalism project to do just that. I'm going to find these missing girls and I'm going to find what is going on around here" with that she looked back at her camera on her computer screen and said "so that's it guys, I'll be sure to keep you updated" and she switched off the camera.Over the past month Carmilla had started to develop feelings for Laura and she didn't like it. She liked it but it was too dangerous. Carmilla knew that her mother would never allow her to be happy and Carmilla wasn't going to put Laura in danger.
"Don't you think that meddling is a little dangerous cupcake" said Carmilla hoping that Laura would agree.
"If I don't try and find these girls who is?" Laura said with a serious face.
At that Carmilla knew Laura was going to figure it out eventually, should she tell her herself? Maybe Laura would understand. Carmilla almost laughed out loud at the thought she had in her head. Of course Laura wasn't going to understand, no one could understand what she did, she couldn't even understand what she did and Ell definitely didn't understand so what should she do.
"Listen Laura, you might find stuff you don't wanna know or something that could hurt you" Carmilla said calmly.
"What do you care, you've barely looked at me since we um, yeah just forget it" Laura replied and Carmilla instantly knew what she was talking about. Their kiss.
"Since we what cupcake?" Carmilla stood and walked closer to the desk, she seen Laura gulp nervously.
Clearly fidgeting, Laura lifted a cookie and shoved it in her mouth before proceeding to talk.
"I can't understand a word you are saying creampuff, maybe you should swallow that mouthful of cookie first" Carmilla said and then followed it with a wink.
Laura's face turned a lighter shade of red, her cheeks warmed and Carmilla could tell, her heart rate got faster the closer Carmilla stood.
Carmilla slowly leaned down so that her head was behind Laura's which allowed her to whisper in her ear. "You talking about our kiss cutie?" Laura gulped.
Carmilla loved the affect she had on the girl, it was new to her. She never felt anything for anyone she since Ell and she certainly didn't think it was going to be Laura that changed that fact. But here she was, inches from Laura's bare exposed neck and whisper into her ear.Slowly Laura turned around, this new sense of confidence that suddenly switched in her head. "Yes Carmilla, I am talking about our kiss" she said firmly. "If you didn't like me, you could have just told me instead of kissing me and then acting as if nothing happened."
It was all coming out and she couldn't stop it.
"I thought we were finally starting to enjoy being roommates, I had learned to cope with your hair, you learned to cope with my cookies and you-" Laura was continuing to ramble when Carmilla lips met Laura.
