Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
Nothing Gold can Stay written by Robert Frost
A/N: This poem brings me to tears every time. This poem is well known and associated with S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders and the context and plot that the characters undergo are just breathtakingly saddening. Please try and take the time to truly understand the poem and you'll understand what I mean, along with reading the wonderful book The Outsiders written by an amazing author (side note, DON'T WATCH THE MOVIE FIRST).
