"Are you okay?" A large hand came into my view and I grasped it, allowing it to pull me up from the tiled floor and to my feet. I nodded my head that I was okay and he smiled at me. "I'm Jacob."
"Abby," I replied, shyly smiling at him. "Thanks."
He smirked. "No problem. I don't mind helping a pretty girl up." I rolled my eyes. He sounded just like my brother-in-law and his brothers. They were all cocky charmers but I loved them.
"Abby! Are you okay?" I turned to look at the owner of the voice as he skidded to a stop in front of me, his eyes wide with concern. "I'm fine Kaiden." I frowned. "Kaiden, where are the kids?"
His eyes got even wider. "Shit!" he exclaimed, taking off back in the direction he'd come. I sighed. Kaiden was too irresponsible. At nineteen you would think he'd at least be able to watch a couple of kids alone for a few minutes but no, he couldn't.
The guy who had helped me up looked at me quizzically for a second before his blue-grey eyes widened. "Damn, you're Killian's girl's sister right?" the guy finally asked. I frowned. Nobody ever seemed to know my name. I was far too quiet. Back in high school, my only friends had been my neighbors, the Greys, and a few of their friends. Even now, at twenty-one, they were my only friends aside from my roommate.
I nodded my head in response, curious as to how he knew who I was- even if he didn't know my name. "Yeah. I'm Killian's sister-in-law," I said.
The guy smirked again. "You don't remember me? I'm hurt." He put his hand over his chest dramatically and I rolled my eyes. I had to admit though, that I stared at his chiseled, shirtless chest for a few seconds too long. Not to mention his abs of stone! The man was hot, that was for sure.
I looked up at his face, studying his chiseled features. He did look awfully familiar but I couldn't seem to place him. "No, sorry."
"Damn, thought I'd made it impossible for you to forget me. After all you did say you would never forgive me," he said. I frowned as it dawned on me who he was. I couldn't believe I hadn't recognized him! I'd never forgotten his face- it would be impossible to do so but he looked different now. The five-o-clock shadow he'd always had was gone and his hair was shorter. His face was a bit more chiseled than it had been in high school though it had been chiseled back then too and he now wore glasses that seemed to make him even sexier. He was more muscular than he'd been before too and his arms and much of his chest and back was completely covered in ink. His eyebrow piercing was gone along with his lip ring and the stud in his tongue. The changes weren't significant but they were certainly there and enough to throw me off, even though not a day went by when I didn't think about him.
"You did," I said coldly, ripping my hand away from his when I realized it still engulfed mine. "You look different though," I pointed out. He'd always been drunk, high, or both in high school. It was a wonder he'd managed to stay in such good shape and be the star running back for the school football team. It was obvious though that the coach turned a blind eye to his substance abuse or he would have been kicked off the team.
"Ahh, so now you remember," he said, crossing his arms across his chest, making the large muscles bulge. He'd gotten even hotter over the years, that was for sure.
I glared at him. He'd made my life hell. I would never have slept with him if I'd been sober but sadly I'd been drunk out of my mind and horny and he was hot and more than willing to take my virginity. And he hadn't hesitated to tell the entire school either. For the rest of the year, I had been branded a slut. It was terrible- guys treated me like a piece of meat and girls made fun of me even though they were much sluttier than I was. I'd slept with one guy, they'd slept with dozens.
