JACOB POV
She looked good. Really good. Maybe even better than in high school. Honestly, I was surprised she didn't just slap me and walk away. I guess we had both grown up and matured a lot in last few years. I wasn't pretending to be someone I never was anymore. And she was a mother now.
"Jakey?" I looked at my brother. "I don't feel good."
"What's wrong buddy?" I asked him.
"My tummy hurts." I frowned and felt his forehead. I couldn't see any symptoms of him actually being sick.
"I think it's all the junk food you've had today," I told him. "We can go home as soon as your sister finishes her ice cream." He nodded and went back to playing with his cars on the picnic table.
"Done!" Chelsea exclaimed, grinning at me. I smiled at her and cleaned her face with a wet-wipe as she had ice cream all over her face.
I got up to go and spotted a familiar face. "Jake!" she squealed, running up to me. I smiled at the familiar little girl and quickly checked her chin.
"Hey Bianca. Your chin looks better," I told her. She smiled.
"Hi! I'm Chelsea!" My little sister said, smiling at Bianca. Bianca bit her lip and shied away slightly.
"B-Bee."
"Bianca, Chelsea is my little sister and that's my brother Brandon," I told her. She nodded her head, looking more comfortable.
"BIANCA ROSE!" A feminine voice frantically yelled, running over and grabbing the girl. "We don't talk to strangers," she lectured. I smiled at the woman.
"I'm not a stranger. I met Bianca at the park yesterday morning and fixed up her chin. And I went to high school with her mother," I told her. I looked her over, she was young, probably still a teenager and had long jet-black hair that was perfectly straightened. She was slim with green eyes and freckles and looked very familiar.
"Yeah, he helped me. He a doctor," Bianca said. "And dat's his sister and brother."
"I'm Jacob," I introduced myself. "You're Killian's sister right?" I asked, finally recognizing her. She nodded slowly. "I remember you. Killian always warned us to stay away from you."
"He had a good reason to. You were trouble with a capital 'T'," she pointed out nonchalantly.
"I wasn't as bad as you all think but I'm not gonna get into that now. Hey, uh, do you have Abby's number?" I asked, hoping she'd give it to me.
"Yes but give me three good reasons why I should give it to you?" She crossed her arms over her chest and raised an eyebrow.
I smirked. "First, I already told her I thought it would be fun to get Chelsea and Bianca together for a playdate. Second, I'm new in town and don't know many people. Third, I'm the doctor who helped Bianca yesterday and will need to check on Bianca's chin next week to make sure it's healing correctly," I stated. She studied me for a moment before nodding and holding out her hand for my phone. I unlocked it and handed it to her, letting her program Abby's number into it.
"You better not make me regret this," she warned. I smiled.
"Never."
I lay down in my bed, playing with my phone, debating whether or not I should call Abby. Was it too soon? What if she was putting Bianca to bed? What if she had a boyfriend? Shit, what if she was with him at that very moment?
I sighed and decided it couldn't hurt to send a harmless 'hey'. So I did just that.
J: Hey Abby. It's Jacob. I got your number from Kylie when I ran into her and Bianca. Her chin is healing well by the way.
A: Hi
J: Are you busy tomorrow?
A: Depends on what you're thinking
J: I was thinking Chelsea and Bianca could have a playdate
A: Oh, yeah Bee would like that
J: Is ten good for you? At the playground where we met?
A: Yeah. See you then
J: Goodnight, see you tomorrow
A: Goodnight
I did a little happy dance in my head and grinned. I was going to get Abby. She might not have any idea but I had a whole plan in place for getting back on her good side. And in her bed.
