Kraken

El kraken es un enorme monstruo submarino que se encuentra en océanos y aguas profundas.

Su tamaño tan solo es comparable al de ciertos y , siendo en muchos casos mayor al de éstos. Puede medir unos 90 metros de alto por término medio. Cuando se acerca a la superficie y permanece quieto se puede confundir con una isla.

Como cualquier cefalópodo, el kraken es capaz de expulsar tinta negra para escapar de sus enemigos, aunque cuesta pensar que un ser como éste necesite escapar, excepto de otro kraken furioso. Ni el mismísimo Leviatàn  es comparable en fuerza o en tamaño.

Los avistamientos de krakens se llevan produciendo desde hace siglos y han sido más frecuentes en las costas del Atlántico Norte y de Noruega. De hecho, un obispo noruego describió en 1752 al kraken, y afirmó que el negro de las aguas de Noruega se debía al mecanismo de defensa del animal.

Los marineros de barcos de vela temían más que nada la aparición de este terrible ser, y vigilaban con nerviosismo las aguas profundas con la esperanza de no ver ningún burbujeo abundante, señal de que el kraken estaba ya demasiado cerca.

Cuando el kraken aparece o emerge alguno de sus tentáculos ya no es necesario correr. Una vez ha divisado a sus víctimas se lanza al ataque, las golpea y las envuelve con sus tentáculos mientras las arrastra a sus terribles fauces.

Hay rumores sobre islas tropicales que han quedado absolutamente vacías, tanto de animales como de humanos, tras el paso del malvado animal.

Sus guaridas se encuentran a varios miles de metros bajo el mar y son verdaderos complejos de cavernas en los que deposita los restos de cadáveres que no ha devorado, así puede conservarlos hasta que se vuelva a despertar su apetito.

The kraken is a huge underwater monster found in oceans and deep water.

Its size is only comparable to that of certain, and in many cases greater than the latter. It can measure about 90 meters high on average. When it approaches the surface and stays still it can be confused with an island.

Like any cephalopod, the kraken is capable of ejecting black ink to escape its enemies, although it is hard to think that a being like this needs to escape, except for another furious kraken. Not even Leviathan is comparable in strength or size.

Sightings of krakens have been occurring for centuries and have been more frequent on the coasts of the North Atlantic and Norway. In fact, a Norwegian bishop described the kraken in 1752, and claimed that the black of Norwegian waters was due to the animal's defense mechanism.

Seafarers were most afraid of the appearance of this terrible being, and they watched the deep waters nervously in the hope of not seeing any abundant bubbling, a sign that the kraken was already too close.

When the kraken appears or emerges one of its tentacles is no longer necessary to run. Once he has spotted his victims he launches into the attack, hits them and envelops them with his tentacles as he drags them into their terrible jaws.

There are rumors about tropical islands that have been completely empty, both of animals and humans, after the passage of the evil animal.

Its dens are several thousand meters under the sea and are real complexes of caverns in which it deposits the remains of corpses that it has not devoured, thus it can conserve them until its appetite is again awakened.
