Mark's POV

Four days have passed since the night of the ball and no one has the slightest clue where he might be. I decided to go from house to house and have been to most of the houses. There are about five left and on the outside of town is a mansion, I haven't looked there yet. Once I do I have no choice, but to give up. I'm finishing up the houses today, it's early morning and I have only three left to go.

Jack's POV

I'm tired, cold, and hungry. I've been locked in here for days, waiting to die. Waiting for the pain to go away. I sit on the windowsill waiting, watching. I begin to sing to the birds, a soft song my mother taught me. I smile as they come to me and sing along. I close my eyes and feel the wind. I hear the sound of horses, but I keep singing with not a care in the world. I hear the sound of the door open downstairs.

Mark's POV

"Excuse me, may I come in?" I ask to the man at the door. "Certainly, you highness." He replies smiling. He look to, who I assume are his sons and says "Go fetch some tea, why don't you?" They look at each other then back to him "We don't know how to make tea." one replies. "It's fine, I just want to ask if you know who or where the man I danced with might be? Of course you know about the word going around town, about him being a prince and all. I just wanted to make sure he wasn't living in the kingdom before I gave up my search." I say. He looks annoyed and says " No, he's not here. Have a good day, your highness." then tries to close the door on my face.

"Do you hear that?" I swear I hear him singing. His voice filling my head, like in the forest. "No, you must be hearing things." "Yes, hearing things" one of the boys says. The other one nods and the man tries to close the door on me again. I stop the door with my foot and head upstairs. Following his voice I find a door, I try to open it but it's locked. "Open it." I say. They look nervously at me and the man of the house nods. He grabs the keys from his pocket and unlocks it. The door flies open and he jumps up. His eyes lock with mine, the beautiful blue. There he is, my mystery prince.
