I was stood on the boat that was set for New York, my hands grasp the rails as I watch the tall skyline get bigger as it comes ever nearer. I look over at my travelling companion with a large smile on my face. I walk over to him as he places his brown suitcase on his lap a soft whisper of 'Dougal, settle down now please. It won't be long' leaves his lips as I sit next to him.
'Is someone getting restless?' I ask looking at him. Newt Scamander chuckles and nods. I look down at the suitcase that was not all it appeared to be as it shakes violently both Newt and I put our hands on it.
'Hush sweet Dougal' I gently coo to the case to calm the creature inside. Newt and I make eye contact and I smile sweetly at him.
'Such a way with creatures' he muses softly with a smile. I shyly shrug at his words. A horn sounds as the boat pulls into the dock. Newt and I stand, he takes my hand and we each carry our cases off the boat towards customs. A gentleman beckons us forward I smile as Newt and I place our cases on the counter.
'First time in New York?' he asks clearly bored with his current occupation.
'Yes' I smile answering for both Newt and myself, Newt was not making eye contact, a habit he developed from looking after his creatures.
'Honeymooners?' he asks noting how Newt was holding my hand.
'Oh no, we are work collegues' I state as Newt furiously blushed at the assumption made about us.
'Anything edible?' he inquires.
'No' I reply showing him my case as Newt switches his to 'Muggle Worthy'
'Welcome to New York' he says, we smile polietly before walking into the bustling streets of New York. Little known to either of us one of our creatures was escaping.
