Chapter 1: New session

"Humans united against a common enemy are the most powerful existence ever"

"Astral school", the first school constructed to train both humans and monsters alike, is where it all began. On the surface, it looked like a normal school, after all, using powers for battle were banned on the campus. However, none of the students here were normal. Devils, dragons, vampires, Werewolves, etc. Were the one who were trained here. All being taught by one teacher, a S class rated dragon. While the lack of magic on earth had forced them to stay in their human form, there was nothing human about them. The school was divided into different factions and ranks, which were given by our government to us. It ranged from class S to class F, S being the strongest and F being the weakest. The leaders were all S class, and were considered highly dangerous to the human society. The dragon who was popularly known as 'Ka' in the school, was their teacher. Walking down the campus, I could always feel the blood lust of a few of the monsters towards us. Soul, 'the wizard' would always look at me as if I was his prey.

We considered him a psychopath, he devoured the soul of his own platoon members to survive, making him the last wizard in existence. Witnessing his deeds, Ka put on multiple constraints on him, and stopped him from causing any more damage.
The dragon lord, Ka, was the one who signed the Co Exist Pact with our government, stating that his only objective is to go back home. But how can you believe someone who destroyed thousands of cities all alone?
While we may have signed the pact, our training as monster hunters was initiated in stealth. The reason why a few humans like me were enrolled in the school was to gather information and their weak points.
This school works like any other school, we have a teacher who shares his infinite amount of knowledge with us, but he does have a certain hatred towards humans, which makes us think that he is planning something disastrous.
Our recon has proved beneficial to us, we figured out one of their greatest weaknesses. Due to the lack of magic available on Earth, they can only use it in a limited amount. The more powerful you are, the faster you will deplete your magic. But that still doesn't stop their desires to rank up.
The Vampire faction is the most reactive one, they have two S class Vampires, although one of them doesn't show any interest in fighting humans, yet she is still a threat.
Known as Yui, she most likely has the power to control the thoughts of others, which gives rise to psychological fear. Although it's not confirmed yet due to her disinterest in battle and showing off her powers.

My sole purpose is to stay hidden in the shadows, and gather information. For that I have to make sure they think that I'm harmless. However I do suspect that Ka already knows about me.

"The war changed many, and destroyed many", was something that my comrade Killua, a S class Monster Hunter, always remarked. We need to eliminate the monsters, so that our world can gain back the peace it once had.
