It was clearly audible..and before I knew it-

-Shift-

"It's foolish of you to think that we are oblivious of your true intentions, human".

"You might have gone a bit too far with the paralysis, Yui."

I have always been tracking his steps, even though he is my student. The war taught us to not trust anyone, even those whom we called allies. 

"I'm sure you won't confess what exactly are the Jaegars planning, Raul. But you're going to have to call it off, for peace's sake "

"You don't have a choice anyway, human"

I never doubted the vampire's skill, but what's even more threatening is their bloodlust. But even after interrogation, Raul kept his silence.
"Leech his memories", I've been avoiding it for it might kill the weak human, but we had no choice.

I saw him, miserable, in pain, shouting, and wondered- how can a species so weak stand against us? Why are we weaker here? What was our purpose to be transferred here?

There is just one way to know the truth.

"All done, dragon. They're planning an invasion tomorrow night."
"take full control over him and avoid that at all cost."

"Why does it matter to me if you all die?"
"But it does matter to you that you won't be able to go back to where we belong otherwise."

"True.."

It was about time for me to initiate my hunt for truth.

"I don't know what you're planning, dragon, but I'm only helping you because I want to return back to my empire. If your plan is not successful, I will personally kill all those who are important to you in front of your eyes."

"Heh, I'll take that risk.".
While it was bound to be successful, it would come at a cost..

"So, what's the strategy?"
"Keep him in your control, make them believe there's no need to invade us, do what you do best."
"When will you be back?"
"Depends, for now, let's say a year."
"Janex is with you?"
"You ask too many questions"

I sense a familiar presence, and undoubtedly, I recognized it.
"You've gotten weaker at masking your presence, Soul"
"And whose fault is that?"

I chuckled, and immediately stared at Soul.
"Take care of Stella, you know it won't be good if Ethan got to know she's in danger."
"I'd rather not die by being sucked in a blackhole, so yeah, I will."

"Is he really that powerful?", Yui asked. We both glared at her.
"I'll take that as a yes."

At dawn, I left the premises, my destination is Virginia beach, where I will meet up with Janex.
The final destination is an unknown hill in the Alps, the last essence of the Astral Break Event.
We plan to meet up with the goddess Astrea, and find a way to reopen the Gate. What lies ahead of us is a mystery.
