Even though it had happened hours ago, I still couldn't wrap my brain around the fact that it happened, that Becca kissed me. I don't think anyone would believe their 'never-gonna-happen' crush would kiss them. Even if the clouds parted and God told me that Rebecca flippin' Valdez was going to kiss me tonight, I wouldn't have believed Him.

But, believe me when I say that the high of the kiss came crashing down when Jordan's name flashed onto my screen.

"H-hello?"

"Hey, how was your night?" she asked.

"It was great- I mean good- decent. Cool."

"So many descriptions." she laughed on the other end. "I take it you enjoyed yourself, which I'm happy to hear. What did you guys do?"

"She took me somewhere that's special to her, where she used to spend a lot of her time."

"That's nice. I guess your friendship means a lot to her too, then?"

"Yeah, I guess so."

"You're being weird. What's up?" She asked.

"The sky, and probably the moon tonight."

"Funny Sherlock. Seriously, is something wrong?"

I didn't know if I should tell her about the kiss. Jordan and I weren't dating but if she kissed someone else I would want to know. This was going to come back to bite me in the ass.

"Yes. No. I don't know. Can't we just talk about something that's not me?"

"Yes we can. Can you come outside right now?"

"Outside? Why would I go out?"

"Just trust me. I know it's a weekday Mom, but live a little."

I hesitated but complied anyway. My dad was sleeping when I checked on him, as was Darcy. I slipped out the door as quietly as possible. Someone passed me on the stairs and said hello, which shocked me because no one in my building ever spoke to me. I managed to say it back before they got too far. Peeking outside, I saw no one, so I stepped back inside and called Jordan again.

"I'm not going outside this late without reason," I whispered.

"Just come outside."

She hung up without letting me respond. I did trust her so I opened the door further and saw her waiting at the corner, leaning on the stop sign. She put butterflies in my stomach the moment I saw her. Her hair was unkempt and she looked tired but that didn't stop the way I was feeling by how she looked at me. Why didn't I still feel this way with Becca?

"Hey boo. Missed you," she said as I approached.

"I missed you too, even though you saw me a few hours ago."

"I can't miss you for a few hours?"

She pulled me closer by the waist, causing me to put my hands on her shoulders. She stood at about 5'7, so I was looking up at her. Her body was slimmer than mine but that didn't make me any less attracted to her. I was more nervous than I'd ever been while in her arms. I didn't feel 'weak in the knees' as I did the first time I hugged Becca but I guess this was different - I wasn't in love. Still, there was no way I could deny that I had feelings for Jordan.

"I guess you can," I said.

"Good," she replied and she took me by the hand.

Our fingers interlocked as we walked further down the street. I wasn't the least bit tired despite the time. If anything, the breeze we encountered was keeping me awake. I attempted to ask where we were going but she refused to give an answer and kept quiet. We arrived at an area of a nearby park that I'd never been.
