I grab my guitar and head out. I follow the path till I meet the beginning of the forest. I keep walking till I feel I'm deep enough in that no one can hear me. I sit down on the grass and start to play.
"When nothing you say is heard
And nobody cares if you hurt
And I know how it seems
You're nothing but screams
But take it from me it's not the end
And all that you try goes wrong
And nothing but lies for so long
And I know how it seems it's hard to believe
But take it from me it's not the end
Stuck
Keep moving
Stuck
Don't let it die
Stay alive, stay alive, because it's almost over now
Stay alive, stay alive, better days to come around
Nothing is right in your head
And all of your tears are shed
I know how it seems
You're in this too deep
But take it from me it's not the end
Stuck
Keep moving
Stuck
Don't let it die
Stay alive, stay alive because it's almost over now
Stay alive, stay alive for better days to come around
Screaming, needing something to stop this feeling
Trying to get by it, keep all my wounds from bleeding
Stay alive, stay alive because it's almost over now
Stay alive, stay alive, for better days to come around
Stay alive, stay alive, because it's almost over now
Stay alive, stay alive for better days to come around
Stuck"
I finish singing, lean my head back and watch the sky as tears stream down my face. A shadow moves from behind a tree and I jump to my feet and pull out a kunia in one swift movement. The figure steps into the sun, and I put my kunia back. He stares at me, not blinking, not wavering. I stare back equally. Finally, I sigh, grab my guitar and start to walk away. Leaving him standing there.
The Next Day
I walk into the classroom and instantly see Naruto. He grins at me and points at the empty seat beside him. I smile at him and take a step foreward, I stop so quickly the person behind me knocks into me.
"Hey!" Neji says angrily. I don't respond, my eyes glued to him. Glued to the person who heard me yesterday. The person I left. Sasuke looks back at me with the same unblinking eyes. I turn to Neji and apologize. Neji grunts and walks around me. I start to walk again, slower than before. I reach Naruto and high five him like usual.
"Whadya do yesterday Alexis?" Naruto asks. I glance at Sasuke and for a second our eyes meet. I look back to Naruto and shrug.
"Boring, uneventful, blah." I answer. The door slams open and Sakura and Ino come in panting. They start to yell at each other about who got here first. I sit in my usual seat, which is sadly, by Sasuke.
"ALEXIS!!!!!!!!!!!" Sakura squeals as she hugs me tightly.
"Sakura. Too. Strong. Gonna die soon." I try to say. Sakura quickly lets go. And I rest my head on the desk and reassuring my lungs that they have air now. Iruka-sensei comes in and class begins.
30ish minutes into class
My hand with the scar on it starts to feel weird. I rub it, but it still feels wrong. I move my hand to under the desk and take off the glove. The black tattoo doesn't look any different then it usually does, but it feels wrong. For some reason I look up and see Sasuke staring at the scar. I watch his face. Black eyes, emotionless, and calm. He catches me watching but I don't look away, and neither does he.
"Sasuke, Alexis. Would you like to share something with us." Iruka-sensei says. I quickly put on the glove and look at him.
"Yeah, can I be excused?" I ask, aware that Sasuke's still watching me. Iruka-sensei looks surprised for a second.
"Um, ok." He stammers. I grab my book bag, feeling every eye on me, and walk out of the classroom.
