THE PUBLIC LIBRARY APPEARED when Scott did his last turn. This is where he was taking me? Strange, I hadn't expected him to bring me here. I was okay with it, surprised, but okay. I had never entered this place, only drove past it, maybe it was awesome, so I wasn't judging.
He parked the car across the street and we walked over the street.
"Aren't you gonna ask why I brought you here?" He asked before we went inside.
"Nop. I asked you to take me to a good place and you brought us here. If this is your good place, then I want to check it out." I explained.
He grinned.
"Common, I want to show you this place." He said extending his hand. I took it and he guided us inside.
"Hey there Scott." The woman behind the front desk said when we entered.
"Hi, Lisa, how's it going?" He casually asked her.
"Good, good, new friend?" She asked looking at me.
Was I a new friend? I mean, we'd known each other for months, but we never really been friends. We just hang out because we were the best friends of the couple, we didn't talk if we ran to each other at school, or anywhere else. So I guess that mean I was a new friend.
So far, I was enjoying having Scott as my friend.
"You could say that." That was his answer.
She smiled and we advanced past her.
"You come here often?" I asked on regard his first name terms with the receptionist.
"Yes, maybe more than a normal teenager should." He admitted ashamed.
"Don't be embarrassed about being a nerd, Scott." I teased.
"I'm NOT a nerd." He denied.
"You are, but don't worry, I love nerdies." I told him.
"You do?" He asked confused.
"Yep, I'm not one of those girls that just care about the guy's looks, I actually care if they have a brain." I explained.
I had never found guys that suck at school and didn't give a fuck about it appealing or cool at all, they seemed stupid and immature for me. In fact, one of the things that I liked more about Scott was that he was smart, intelligent, but not in a boring way, and that was what prevented him from being a nerd, and not to mention, his amazingly good looks. Cause yes, I loved that he was smart, but him being the hottest guy I had ever seen didn't hurt.
He nodded. "Good to know." He said plainly, we continued walking and I now concentrated in what my eyes were seeing.
The library was beautiful. The sealing's were tall and decorated with paintings similar to the Sistine Chapel. The walls were covered with enormous bookshelves filled with thousands of books, it reminded me to the scene from Beauty and the Beast where Beast gave her this huge library. I didn't mention this to Scott though, it was pretty dumb.
There were some people reading in the couches and other ones studying in the tables, but I couldn't hear a word. The silent was inviting, and it made me feel at peace, like when I was at my house alone. I had to consider coming here to study someday, it will definitely beat being at home with my father, who could call me any minute to ask me something.
We didn't stop walking until we reached a room in the back.
"This is my favorite place in here." He explained. "I come here whenever I want to be alone and think." He added.
