Warm Memories (Sonnet II)

Open thy eyes and see the darkness void

Empty are the stars, they shine no more

Albeit the memories you can't avoid

A vestige forgotten as a closed door

Lights that once hath been the city's core

Now became but a shipwrecked home

The bitter wine became a sweet poison for

My being whole; a heart alone

Like the ruins of the Ancient Rome

As a dead rose long-forgotten between the pages

As an ocean current, a water foam

I will be naught but a dust for passing ages

But thou who ought to remember me

Hath loved me most without ignominy
