The Bet- Chapter Five

We had our exam first thing in the morning. Everything that we studied appeared in the test. The exam was easy as a piece of cake. I hope I can pass this.

After class,Kendall and I started talking about how nervous we are for the results. The results were gonna be available by three in the afternoon. And I almost forgot, we had a bet.

If he passes,he's safe, but if he doesn't, he'll have to study all alone without me.

A boy's gotta learn his lesson.

We sat on the benches at the garden. "My girlfriend and I still haven't figured out things. We've been together for two years now, but I don't think we can work this out anymore. I've given her a lot of second chances, and it really didn't go well." He said, a shade of sadness,really visible on his face.

His blonde locks, all messed up. His hands cupped his head, he was looking down. He was doubtful. He was troubled. He had no idea what to do. What the right thing was.

"Maybe you should give her one more chance,if it turns out fine,then try to work it out again,but if it doesn't,its up to you. You know what to do." I said,I squeezed his hand.

I wanted him to know that as a friend,I'll always be here for him. He can tell me anything.

"I will. But if it really won't work,that's it! I'm breaking up with her. I'm just so sick of her drama and her negativity. She's so self-centered that she might even marry herself if she could. I just don't like it.

She takes forever when she gets ready. She always asks me if she looks good and everything. I don't like it anymore." He said,in a really angry tone. He looked so irritated.

"I'm so sorry. But its your life,its all up to you when it comes to your decisions." I said.

He squeezed my hand back.

Kendall's P.O.V

I am so confused. I just don't know anymore. Do I break up with Amanda? I know,I love her but she's too spoiled.

I can't live with that. Its too shitty.

Its like I'm letting myself be this fool who's letting her be a brat and letting her tell me what to do. She's like ruling over my life.

We've been through hell and everything. I found out before that she cheated on me with a varsity basketball player at school.

But I gave her another chance.

Now I just realized.... I should have never gave her a chance. I should have ended it way back. I had enough of her.

Brianna rested her head on my shoulder, as she held my hand. "It'll be okay, I promise. Just have a little faith." She said.

She's right. It'll all be okay.

Suddenly it struck three on the time already. We headed back to class.

"So I'm glad to say Ms. Parker topped the exam once again. But actually to my surprise,she isn't the only who topped this exam." Mr. Collins said. He then looked at me.

Did I fail? I don't think so. I started to feel nervous. He smiled at me,

"Congratulations Mr. Schmidt,you topped the exam as well. It's nice to see that you're improving so much. Keep up the good work." He said.

I couldn't explain how I felt. This wouldn't all happen if it wasn't for her. If it wasn't for Brianna.

"Kendall!!! Oh my gosh, you passed! And not only did you pass,but you topped the exam!" She exclaimed and suddenly hugged me tight.

"Thank you so much, but I don't think I'd be able to do this without your help." I told her.

"Its no big deal,like what I said." She said.

"So what are you gonna do since you passed?" She asked me. Oh right. We made a deal.  Hmmmm.... This is gonna be fun... but evil. I don't know if she's gonna join in though.

"Can you help me make my girlfriend jealous? In that way I can test her if she gets jealous and if she really loves me. Its not that hard. All you have to do is walk with me and stuff in front of her." I told her.

I realized she was thinking. I could see the look on her face.

"Hmmm.... sure. But, I can't promise you that it'll be successful since I don't have experience." She said.

She,doesn't have experience? I'm surprised. How could a really beautiful girl who's already two years away from college,have no experience in dating? It shocked me.

I nodded and we went to the garden. I then saw Amanda doing her usual chit chat with her best girl friends. "Let's do this." I murmured. Brianna nodded and then she winked at me. That was adorable.

Now let's get back to this... We walked around,I held her hand.

I kissed her hand, and then placed my arm around her waist. I kissed her cheek then we sat on the bench a few meters away from Amanda.

I could see her getting red and furious. Its working. Its really working.  She then left with her friends. "So what happened?" Brianna asked me,taking my arm off her.

"I think it worked. She looked so mad. I know it when she's mad." I said,smirking at her.

"Well I guess that's all for today,right?" She asked me. "Yes. Thanks." I said.

"Awe you're welcome.... my boyfriend." Brianna winked at me and laughed so hard.

"Why thank you,my girlfriend." I smiled at her.

She then kissed my cheek as part of the joke. But it took me by surprise. I felt something different.

It was something I couldn't explain. I couldn't put into words. It was the bet, that got me closer to her.

I started feeling something emotionally that I never felt before.

It was the feeling that I couldn't seem to understand.

The  feeling that left me wordless.
