The calls and hoots of birds chirping woke Jason out of his slumber and he found Arwin sleeping embracing him. When he was in the middle of Pandiculation, Arwin snuggled up closer to him and held him tighter. Every time Jason moved, Arwin would grumble and grip his body tighter.
After a few minutes, Jason just gave up and lay still gazing at their makeshift shelter's roof and listening to the chirping of birds. The sun rays made its way through their roof and fell on Arwin's face. Jason immediately shielded his face by using his hands and Arwin scooted closer to him to avoid the rays.
Jason smiled and started shifting his hand in a way so that the rays would fall on the right edge of his face and Arwin would move closer to Jason to avoid them.
After a few minutes of grinning silently, he started chuckling when couldn't hold himself and Arwin woke up with a jump, visibly rattled, heat rising up his cheeks when he noticed the position they were in and he immediately tried to move away from Jason who only beamed at Arwin.
"Good Morning, Ar. I see you slept comfortably last night." At that Arwin only blushed and murmured "Good morning Jason".
They went out of their shelter and were greeted with a breathtaking view of the forest with large leaved trees, beautiful shrubs and colorful berries which they of course, hadn't noticed at night.
Arwin was advancing towards a particularly enticing bunch of red berries when he heard Jason's startled gasp and he saw a wild boar staring at Jason who was standing still and on the verge of retreating.
He knew that would be a fatal mistake. Arwin took a deep breath and steadied his heartbeat and shouted very loudly drawing its attention to him.
When the boar looked towards him, Arwin raised his hands and started running towards it shouting at the top of his voice. It also turned and started running into the forest.
Arwin kept hitting trees with his hands making noise and he could also hear Jason calling him and asking to stop but he kept chasing it, eventually the boar gained speed and ran out of sight.
Arwin finally stopped, bending on his knees for support and catching his breath. Jason was nowhere in sight, it did unsettle him but at least he would be safe, he thought yet another voice in his head said what about you.
He shook his head and was desperately looking in every direction hoping to find any sign to know which direction he came from but it all looked same to him.
He was on the verge of tears but heard a vehicle plying on a road nearby and a new tinge of hope filled his senses. He ran towards the sound and after a few minutes of being bruised by plants and shrubs that absolutely refused to give way to him, he found himself in the middle of the road.
A patrol vehicle was making its way towards himand there were a few soldiers in it who were standing and pointing their gunsin both the directions of road.
