His ears barely regustered Dios grunting loudly and the sound of the vehicle being started. He didn't realize his vision was cloudy due to the tears that threatened to fall but he kept on going.

He couldn't let it happen! He couldn't just allow it! He would save him.

When he reached there, he still couldn't see properly but then he heard,

"Mellilot, Did you just-----You knew Clio?"

Asav wiped his eyes and the world appeared again. He wasn't in the hostels. Clio was----Clio was dead! It was Issac who was standing there talking to him.

But Asav had heard the gunshot, if Issac was alive, then that meant--

He turned and saw the lackey soldier lying with a wound on his head.

Asav tried not to look at his face and eyes, Issac shook him with his shoulders.

"Mellilot! Are you listening to me? Did you know Clio? I am Jason!"

"Jason?"

He was Clio's brother! That's why he reminded him of Clio!

Before he could process this, a flash of movement in the window of the fortification caught his eyes.

He spotted a group of armed rebels advancing towards them. Jason followed his line if vision and gulped.

"Listen Asav, you can't stay here! You need to leave! Now!"

He saw Jason lifting his gun to shoot again and his insides screamed at him to stop him.

Desperately, Asav kicked him in the calf.

"What the hell, Mellilot?" Jason grunted in pain but kept standing.

Asav, then kicked him in the shins. Fortunately, it worked and Jason fell on his back clutching his leg and glaring at him.

A wild idea came to him and he whispered,

"Don't move!."

"What the....?" Jason protested.

"Just stay still!" Asav ordered and pointed towards the lackey soldier.

Fortunately, Jason got the point and stopped. Soon, they heard hurried footsteps approaching them.

Asav closed his eyes for a deep breath, moved away from Jason and raised his hands.

A rebel whose face was covered with bandit scarf carefully walked towards him as if expecting to be shot.

He came to a stop when he saw three soldiers lying on the ground.

His countenance relaxed when he saw an unarmed Asav standing there. Keeping his gun pointed at Asav, he raised his hands and beckoned the others over.

All of them were wearing Bandit scarves and had long guns in their hands. They were wearing long green full sleeved shirts and trousers and had black marks on their foreheads in the shape of a trident.

One of them stepped forward and all of them cleared the way to let him pass.

Asav was reminded of a pack of wolves and the alpha. The man had draped a brown shawl over his clothes, only his loose faded white trousers were visible. He stepped forward and took in the surroundings.

He abruptly stopped when he saw Asav and kept staring at him in disbelief. After a few moments, he cleared his throat and said in a loud booming voice

"What are you doing here?"

Oh! Nothing much, just hanging around, watching people dying in front of me, you know, just the usual stuff.

A snarky voice in Asav's head answered, but Asav ignored it.
