I'm wearing heels.
I've always felt comfortable in heels. Powerful, even. It's true what they say, you know. Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world.
And I'm sorry stiletto girls, for me that's a block heel with a platform. I don't make the rules.
"Bit revealing, innit." I take a deep breath to prepare myself for the upcoming argument.
"I know, Haz." I pull the hem of my bodycon dress down. "This is the only thing I have that's all black that's appropriate for work. I promise to go out and buy something new tomorrow, okay?"
"It's not appropriate."
I sigh. "Harry, please trust me. I'll put a turtleneck underneath the dress, you won't see anything but my legs and I'm going to be behind the bar for practically the whole night." I quickly disappear to our room and put on my long sleeve top underneath the strappy dress. "I'll buy new clothes with you tomorrow, I swear. But if I don't leave now I'll be late."
He's silent for a few moments. "Fine." I smile. "But I'm not happy, now say goodbye."
I peck him on the lips, pulling away with a grin still on my face. "Thank you, Harry. I love you."
"I know, now fuck off to work."

My training was quick and simple, I didn't need that much guidance on the cocktails I knew. But learning the bar's speciality cocktails was trying. Felix showed me my way around the bar, so I'm pretty confident my shift this evening will be fine.
"You know, you cover up a lot more than the rest of the girls working here." Felix eyes me in a way that isn't predatory, more curious.
I look at him in a pensive matter. "Yeah, my boyfriend wasn't a fan of me showing off that much skin at work."
"Boyfriend?" Felix asks.
"Yes, actually. Why? You interested?" I tease.
He laughs. "Sorry to disappoint but I'm in a relationship. That's the thing, though. I wouldn't like it if my partner was telling me how to dress, especially at work." He leans back against the bar, studying my quizzical expression.
"What do you mean?"
"If it was your mum telling you that, then sure. But it's a trust thing when you're a couple, isn't it? Does he not trust you when you're going out without him. Because I'm guessing you're not this conservative when you go out on the lash, right?"
"Yes..." I answer.
"Is that because you're with him? He can see what you're doing then. He doesn't trust you by yourself." He crosses his arms across his chest and wears a playful smirk, knowing he's bested me.
Fuck. Felix is so wise.
"I disagree. He's just protective, is all." I've had many an argument with Barbie about this, I know how to defend myself against accusations about Harry.
