The Possibilities

Party

     I walk home and remember the castle upon the hill and decide to check it out later at night where it is nice and creepy. I head inside and go upstairs. My mother is out at work. I then hear the doorbell ring. 

     Scarlett appears with a long plastic bag and says, "Let's go your going to Alex's party I can't believe it!" She invites herself in. "So that is why I got you this. Think of it as an early birthday present." It is only, what March, and my birthday is not til April 10th (My actual birthday XD). 

    She does my hair/makeup and I put on my shoes. I look at myself in the mirror and am amazed. "What about you are you going?" I ask. She takes off her over layer clothes to reveal a sexy red dress with slit in the side. "Hell yeah I am going to catch me a boy tonight." We laugh.

     We then head to Alex's. It isn't cold til later. Alex has a rich family and his house is  humongous. There is a guard/security guy standing outside the door. "Invites ladies?" I gave him mine and he just nodded at Scarlet. Hmm why did he do that? They must know each other. 

     We head inside and its even bigger inside. Everyone is talking with each other. As we walk in everyone stares at her with google eyes. They just stare at me with a grin. A couple guys whistle. I just ignore them. And walk straight to the punch area with Scarlet. 

     I get some punch, while Scarlet goes and strikes up a convo with a hot guy, and realize it is spiked with alcohol so I stop drinking it. Just as I am about to turn around I feel a tap on my shoulder.  I turn and see Alex with a wide smile. 

    "Hey! You came! Thank you I was thinking maybe you wouldn't because of too much homework." I give him a what the fuck look and say "Wow thanks" and walk away. "Wait!" he stops me and apologizes. "I didn't mean it in that way come on. I am sorry I just didn't think you'd come is all. My girlfriend blew me off at most times." 

     When he mentioned his break up and ex girlfriend I suddenly felt bad and apologized. "I am sorry too I totally forgot all about your breakup and I shouldn't have freaked out on you." We hug it out and we sit on the couch and talk. I see Scarlet grinding on the same guy from before. 

     Suddenly, a slow song comes on. So Close by Jon McLaughlin.  I see Scarlett slow dancing with the guy. Alex gets up and just as I think he is about to leave me he says holding out a hand, "Would you , uh, care to have this dance?" I blush and take his hand. "I would not care." 

      We get on the dance floor and I put my hands around his neck and he puts his hands on my waist/hips and we dance. We stare at each other passionately. At one point, my head is leaning in and my cheek is against his. His scent is a mix of cologne and a little bit of alcohol and its amazing. The song ends and we pull away, well I do, and he holds my chin with one hand and says, "Thank you beautiful". I blush and then he leans in and whispers in my ear to follow him outside.

      I follow him outside and the breeze is chilly so he takes his jacket off and hands it to me. I say thank you and pulls me close to him.  I put my hands around his waist. "Look at those beautiful stars. There is an even beautiful star out tonight." He looks down at me and I find myself leaning in. His scent gets me overwhelmed and he leans in and closes the space between us. 

     Sparks fly, butterflies fly crazily in my stomach. When we stop I look at the time. It is 9:45 and we came out at 9:20. Time flies. I then lean my head against him. We stay like that for a while and then head back inside hand in hand. People look and gasp. Scarlett smiles and nods.

     I am sitting on Alex's  lap after the party in his bedroom. We are watching The Notebook when I fall asleep. I wake up and Alex is gone. It is 12:00 am. That is my cue to leave. I get my stuff, thankfully I still have my clothes on, and head downstairs.
