"Iain. Are you listening?"

Iain looked up at his girlfriend Rita. He kept on thinking about Kenzie and Summer-Rose. He wanted to see the little girl again. She was a reminder of his best friend. He sighed. "Sorry Rit. Just thinking."
"Well I could help distract you from that."
Iain rolled his eyes. "Yeah. No thanks."

Iain went into his spare bedroom and sighed. He had Andrew's old Army jacket. He had an idea. He saw a photo of him and Andrew.

He grabbed the stuff and left. He went to the shopping centre. He found the shop he was after. "Excuse me, could I get this jacket put onto a bear?"
"I'm sorry sir. We don't do that."
Iain sighed. "It's for a three year old girl who's father killed himself."

Thankfully, Iain got the jacket turned into a bear. He went to another shop where he got the photo of himself and Andrew blown up into two canvases. He wanted to give one to Summer so she would always remember her father.

Kenzie sat in her living room crying. She missed Andrew so much and it was getting so hard for her. Summer didn't have a clue about what was going on and everyday, she asked for her daddy to come home.

Summer came downstairs that morning and smiled. "Daddy come home aday?" She asked. She climbed up onto the sofa by the window. "I ook for him."

Kenzie was about to speak when the doorbell rang. "It daddy! He come home!" Summer squealed.

Kenzie opened the door and saw Iain. "Hiya."
"Alright? Listen this might sound weird but can I see Summer?" Iain asked.
"Sure. Come on in," Kenzie replied.

Iain went inside and Summer toddled over to him.
"Ey o," she said.
"And what are you doing missy?" Iain asked.
"Ooking for my daddy," Summer told him.

Iain felt his heart break. He looked at Kenzie and Kenzie nodded. Iain gently lifted Summer and took her to the living room.

Iain had a bag with him and he unzipped it as Summer sat on his lap.
"This is for you," he said. Summer kept trying to see what it was.
"What it?" Summer asked as she cuddled into Iain.

Iain took out the canvas of him and Andrew. Summer's eyes lit up. "It daddy!" She squealed.
"It is daddy."
Summer giggled. "I show mummy," she said. She tried to stand up with the canvas but it was too big. "Oh no."

Kenzie walked over. "Iain. That must have cost a fortune."
"No."
Iain handed Summer the other little giftbag. "This is something your daddy used to own. He would want his little girl to have it."
Summer pulled out a teddy bear. Kenzie gasped when she seen the teddy bear was made from Andrew's shirt.
"Teddy!" Summer said. She showed Kenzie.
"There is a teddy."

Kenzie smiled as Summer her the teddy tightly. She looked at Iain.
"You didn't have to," Kenzie told him.
"I know I didn't have to."
Summer walked over to Iain. "Where my daddy? He comed home now?" She asked.

Iain and Kenzie both looked at each other. They didn't know what to say. "Summer, do you want to go for a drive?" Kenzie asked.
"Es! Daddy bear come oo. Me find daddy and he pway with me."
"Iain will play with you until then," Kenzie told her gently. Summer grinned at Iain. Iain smiled and took her hand as he walked her to the car.

Kenzie locked up the house and got into the car. Iain had put Summer into the car and strapped her into her seat.

Iain and Kenzie both knew where to take Summer. They pulled over at the graveyard.
"What here mummy?" Summer asked as she looked out of the window.
Kenzie took Summer from the carseat. "Is daddy hiding behind these pwetty wocks?" She asked as she held her teddy bear.
"Hold on baby."

They found the headstone. Kenzie took Summer from Iain and sat down on the grass with her. "Summer, you know how daddy was upset a lot before? Well his heart got too broken and he had to go."
Summer looked confused. Kenzie sat down on the grass and Summer sat in her lap. Iain sat down beside them.

Summer looked at the headstone.
"What that?" Summer asked.
"That's daddy's headstone," Kenzie told her.
Summer frowned. "What that?"
"When you love someone and they have to go, they use one of these to remember them," Kenzie told her.
"Daddy come here then?" Summer asked.
Kenzie took a deep breath. "Look at the sky baby."
"Why?"
Kenzie wiped her tears away. "Because daddy is now angel. He's watching down on you and me and uncle Iain."

Summer began crying. "I no want daddy angel. I want weal daddy," she said.
Kenzie was in hysterics. "Me too baby. I want real daddy too."

Iain's heart broke seeing them both crying. He moved closer and held them both.

Summer looked at Iain and then Kenzie.
"He's not weal daddy," Summer sobbed.
"I'm daddy's friend. Daddy wanted me to make sure you stayed happy," Iain told her. He wiped away her tears.

Summer cuddled into Iain. Kenzie smiled through her tear at Summer and Iain.
"Thank you," Kenzie whispered to him.

Summer had fallen asleep on Iain. Kenzie smiled. "She only ever did that with me and Andrew."
"Girl's got taste."
Kenzie smiled. She stroked her little girl's hair. "It's going to be so hard for her to understand that he's not coming back."
"Yeah. Well together you and me have got memories of him so we can tell her all that. And we can bring her here," Iain said.
Kenzie smiled.

***
Iain had decided to take Kenzie and Summer into the ED as Charlie wanted to meet them both. "Why here?" Summer asked. She held onto her daddy bear. "Daddy here?"
"Daddy's not here sweetie," Iain said to her. Summer nodded and held onto the daddy bear tightly.

Iain carried her inside and went to Charlie's office. Kenzie took Summer from Iain as he knocked the door.
"Come on in," Charlie said. Summer was fascinated when she heard the voice.

Iain opened the door and let Kenzie walk in first with Summer. Charlie smiled at them. Iain closed the door after he walked inside.
Summer giggled. "Mummy! It Santa wiz no beard!"
Kenzie smiled. "Sorry about her. She's obsessed with Santa."
"It's alright. You must be Summer."
Summer shook her head. "No! Me Summer-Wose."

Kenzie sat with Iain and Charlie. The door opened and woman with blonde hair walked in.
"I'm Duffy," she said. Kenzie shook her hand and smiled.
"I'm Kenzie and this is Summer-Rose," Kenzie said.
Duffy smiled and sat down with Charlie.
"So you're Kenzie."

Kenzie was confused at how Charlie and Duffy seemed to know her.
"How do you know me?" Kenzie asked.
Charlie sighed. "I'm Andrew's father."
