Iain couldn't believe that he was developing feelings for Kenzie. He knew it was wrong. Especially considering she was grieving for Andrew still.

Iain knew Andrew wanted him to be there for Kenzie but he didn't know how Andrew would react to him falling in love with her.

When Iain woke that morning, he saw a text from Kenzie -

I'm taking Summer to the beach today if you want to come - K x
I'd love to. What time? - I

Iain knew he had the day off. He was excited to spend the day with Summer. Kenzie too.

Iain arrived at Kenzie's house. He saw Summer standing in the window squealing. Iain waves and poked his tongue out at her.

Kenzie opened the door and smiled. "Hey. How are you?" She asked.

"I'm alright thanks. It's good to hear from you," Iain said as he hugged Kenzie. He smiled as Summer came running over. "Hello squirt."

Summer giggled. "We go beach! Daddy ike the beach. We go there afore he had to be angel."

"I seep till we gets there," Summer said as she closed her eyes. "I deam bouts daddy," she mumbled.

Kenzie smiled slightly. "She loves him so much. I don't think it's truly sunk in that he's gone," she said.

Iain nodded. "It'll take time Kenz. She's three and can't grasp the fact her daddy is dead," he said.

"I know."

When they arrived at the beach, Kenzie woke Summer. She had brought the daddy bear with her. "I take him in the water?" She asked.

"No baby. He'll get wet," Kenzie said.

Summer pouted. She looked at Iain. "He get wet if me takes him in water?" She asked.

"Yeah."

***
They got onto the beach and Summer squealed with excitement. "Snuffles! Sandcastle with me!"

Iain smiled at Summer's use of Andrews nickname for him. He sat on the sand and began helping her. Kenzie smiled. "If you want to go in the water then you need sun cream on."

"Otay muma bear."

Summer giggled. "Daddy watch me from the sky?" She asked.

"Yeah honey."

After Summer had eaten the picnic that Kenzie had packed, Iain took her in the sea. Summer squealed with excitement as a wave hit her. "Again!"

Iain laughed and picked her up. He held her upside down. "I no ike dat," she said.

"Sorry princess."

Summer smiled. She wrapped her arms around Iain's neck. "Daddy call me pincess. I your pincess too?"
