I was about to leave for a week. It sounds short and simple. But in my mind it felt like we would be apart for ages.

We had been in town all day and it was late. Probably about nine or ten at night. I was desperate though, to see you before my departure the following morning. So I walked aimless down the street for a while and when I came near your house, there you were. With random tools thrown out around you and your iPod playing some song by Trace Adkins.

With a little 'hello' I made my way over and you told me to take a seat. We sat in silence and small talk for a while. That's one of the things I loved about us, the silence that fell was always comfortable. But anyways, after a while you decided we should go for a walk and so we did...until midnight.
