I was scared. Because I was standing a few feet away from your driveway. I was about to walk up to your porch and just talk to you. I had always been shy. Though the move to that neighborhood probably almost entirely broke that for me.
So there I was. Taking deep breaths. I didn't know you very well. But then my feet started moving and in moments there I was. Looking at you and you looking at me. Thankfully enough you were kind and happy to see me. I sat down next to you. My heart racing and you started conversation.
"Everybody's left this damn neighborhood." You said.
I tried not to smile. I've always loved your voice.
"Pretty much." I reply softly, still nervous of what I had just done.
"Guess its just us now huh?"
"I guess."
