About the time I tried to leave the city I was called back to the university. Mr Reso, Owa, and Byto were there to. I learned that the 3 who pass the exam had to be in a group with a mentor.

Mr. Reso volunteered to be our groups mentor. Byto was exited that I was in a group with him but Owa looked bored with us. I started to think that Owa thought he was too good for us.

We gave each other our information. The first person was Byto who told us that he has destruction magic. Then Owa went and told us he had boost magic. Next I went and told them I had elemental magic. Finally Mr. Reso went and it turns out that he's a healing wizard.

We went to the gate of the city where we saw another group return. This group had 2 people and no mentor in sight. I asked what had happened to them because of how beat-up they were. I was told by Mr. Reso " they lost there mentor a long time ago and it looks like they lost 1 from the last time I saw them. That just shows you how dangerous it is outside of the town".

We had a 2nd thought about going through the gate, but I still had to find my uncle. I was intent on going without looking back. The other 2 wanted to go out as well, and Mr. Reso couldn't stop us.

About 2 minutes after we left the town we were battling a monster. It was easier than my fight at the exams. Though I still got a tiny scratch.

Mr. Reso said "it's only going to get harder from here on out." No matter what he said we still wanted to go further. We kept moving on until it got dark. We fought 3 monsters that day and they were the easy part of the trip.

We pitched a tent and I was reminded of how I used to do that with my dad when I was little. The tent could only hold 2 people so me and Mr. Reso slept outside. Before we went to sleep I asked Mr Reso about what my uncle was like in this world. He replied "he is the most dangerous man you would ever fight which is why I like that he's on our side. He also slayed a dragon when he was about as old as you, and he can do what you can do with the magic being on certain parts of the body. In fact he was the first person to do it."

I fell asleep peacefully knowing that he can hold his own. When I woke up Mr. Reso had already been up. I was also surprised that my head was resting on his knees. It took a little while for the others to wake up, but at least I got to see the sunrise. Then I realized that out side the town there was a day/night cycle rather than it being sunset the entire time.

The second after Byto woke up he tried hitting on me again, but Mr. Reso took him by the collar and dragged him away from me. While being dragged away Byto said "I will get your heart one of these days." I guess what he said was enough to wake Owa because he was up in 2 seconds.

We unpitched the tents and headed out further. We fought more monsters and they were getting harder and harder to beat. We found a cave to stay for the night, but we had to fight off more monsters so that the cave could be safe for us.

There was another group that had the same idea. They looked like the group we saw before but this one had only a mentor and a person who looked nearly as old as my dad. The mentor was another girl who seemed really fond of me.

Me and the girl mentor got one side of the cave while the boys got the other. When I woke up this time I was the last one awake and was being carried by Mr. Reso. He told me that the other group started going toward the city a little before even he woke up.

I wasn't sure how far we were away from the city now. A couple miles later we found a settlement full of people exploring outside of the city. The settlement was protected from the monsters by a magic barrier. It also had small shops like the ones in the city.

We found an Inn in the settlement and stayed the night or at least half the night. We all were sleeping in our rooms when the magic barrier went down. About half an hour later I was woke up by Mr. Reso and learned that monsters were attacking the city.

I got my wand ready and headed outside to see the danger. They were mostly monsters that you would defeat easily, but this time something felt off. Even the most experienced wizards and witches were being torn apart by creatures you fight at the beginning of your journey.

To be honest I was scared, but I was also exited. Byto and Owa were holding there own. In fact they had already killed 5 each. Now it was my turn to kill some monsters.

I had killed 10 normal monsters that night, but nothing could have prepared me for what I fought or what happened near the end of the night. A dragon had appeared during that night. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do.

When it first came it looked like it was there for a purpose. It was unphased by anyone who tried to attack it. It alone killed 68 people in the settlement, that was almost all of them. When people gave up trying to fight it, it starred directly at me.

It stood there just staring while I stood still in fear. At first it came at me slowly until I took a step back, then it rushed me. All I could do was try to evade or block its attacks.

Then I tried the same thing I did in the arena but it wasn't near enough to kill him. Then when I couldn't block it tried attacking me. That's when Mr. Reso jumped in front of me to take the blow. It stopped attacking for the couple seconds that I saw him dead.
