AFTERMATH - Trilogy

Ascension - Seven

May felt her hand grab the lever. Her fingers wrapped around it as she slowly pulled it toward her.

"May! No!" Ethan shouted behind her. She turned to face her older adopted brother, his eyes fixed on her sad face.

"I'm sorry." She muttered back releasing Blaze her Blaziken. Blaze fired a burst of fire at Ethan and a figure joining him from the entrance to the underground cave.

Ethan released his Aerodactyl and the figure next to him released a Greninja. Blaze was  outnumber but stood tall, dodging the attacks from both Pokemon.

May pressed some more buttons and glanced briefly at the huge weapon in front of her. The  weapon she would use to bring him back.

She turned back to the battle as Blaze took a direct hit from a water shuriken. Blaze fell  backwards and collapsed onto the floor.

He was out.

"May! Listen to me! Lysander is trying to trick you. If you turn that weapon on it will destroy everything."

May let her eyes meet the floor. Her brown hair had lost its glow as she started to cry. She  turned to her brother and his friend who stood at the bottom of the weapon looking up to her on the metal platform.

Her defeated eyes shot back to the weapon as she closed them and grabbed the switch in her hands.

"May!" Ethan shouted. She didn't notice Ethan's friend pulling out a strange Pokeball.

"May please, just come home." Ethan pleaded, his voice warm instead of the usual cold. "We can  forget about all of this." May turned to her brother. "We can just go home, we can forget this ever happened."

"I can't forget him though, I can't live without him." May sobbed into her hands as she turned to the control panel.

"I can't bring him back May, nothing can, not this machine, not you." Ethan called out to her.

"Then life isn't worth living anymore." May felt her hand reach to the switch again as the boy  next to Ethan threw a Pokeball into the air and released Yveltal. May  stared at the giant legendary who roared at her.

"Oblivion wing." The voice next to Ethan called out. May watched at Yveltal glowed red at her and as a burst of red death was about to strike her a large roar erupted from behind her.

A green glow flung into Yveltal and smacked into him sending him into a wall. Rayquaza roared as its body surrounded Yveltal. Rayquaza turned and roared once more  towards Ethan and the boy.

May turned around, her hand clutching her chest as a figure emerged on the other side of the platform dawning a familiar white hat.

He was alive?

My body floated through nothing, I couldn't open my eyes. I couldn't feel anything. I was dead, I had to be.

"Brendan?" A majestic voice called to me.

"Brendan, it's time to wake up." I managed to open my eyes and glance around. I was floating  through nothing. Black surrounded me and almost engulfed me.

A blue glow appeared around me and I gazed at the sight of a Pokemon floating before me.

Xerneas.

The Life Pokemon.

"Where am I?" I managed to stumble to the legendary who seemed to smile in front of me.

"That's the wrong question." The powerful feminine voice stated to me.

"What do you want?" I asked her.
