I spent the day pacing around. I was so confused, I couldn't run a pack on my own. Could I? I needed a mate to help me. I knew the battle wasn't far away. The battle between the White and Black wolves was coming. It was going to be big and there would be many deaths. Thats what I feared, all the deaths.
I knew I couldn't keep Gabby out of the war. She would be in the fight. No matter how much I could keep her hidden. She would be found. The black wolves know she is my weakness.
I heard the door open. I looked up and seen my sister.
"Hey." I said sadly.
"Hey sister."
"Hows Gabby? Is she ok? I thought she was gone." I said gone in a harsh whisper.
"She took a lot of damage. But shes her mothers girl. Shes strong she will live. I didn't even know she was there..." she said quietly.
"I didn't eather. She was protecting me... it should have been the other way around." I growled to my self.
I stood up and walked to my closet. I put on a sweater and some baggy pants. I walked over to Kali and hugged her. I started to cry on her shoulder. She hugged me tightly and rubbed my back.
"What am I going to do?" I stuttered "I have no mate... I need a mate to run a pack."
"You can still run this pack. You don't need a mate to run this pack. You have there loyalty and there trust. You have me, Talon, Gabby, Alan. Even if Alan won't be your mate he will help you." she said calmly.
I nodded I remembered what there last Alpha told me. I needed to be stronger then I am right now. I pulled back I knew what needed to be done.
I looked at Kali "You need to be the Alpha."
She looked at me her eyes widened "No. No. You are the Alpha of this pack-"
"But I am not fit right now. You have a mate, I don't." I said determind.
"But I don't have the pack's respect. Nor do I have there loyalty." she argued.
I looked down. She had a point. I sat on the edge of the bed and put my head in my hands. I needed to think about this. Kali turned and frowned at me, then she walked out. It was quiet until I heard the soft paw steps of a wolf. I looked up and seen Tundra. I stood up and nodded my head respectfully. He shifted back and walked towards me.
He hugged me and patted my back. Ooook weird much?
"This wasn't subpost to happen." he growled.
"Its fine I'm over it." I sighed.
"No your not." he growled then took a deep breath, "You need a mate if you want to servive the battle. Both Black wolves have there mates and are strongly connected to them."
"Ok so? Thats just another weakness." I said in an What-Ever tone.
He gave me a glare "You don't understand. That makes them stronger."
I looked down. I knew that, I should have atleast "So what do you expect me to do? Alan thinks hes not worthy of me."
"Because he's not. Damon is dead, only Alan and Dustain remain for your mates. You must choose one." he said sternly.
"I have! I choose Alan! I always will!" I said painfully.
"I know." he said.
"Then why did you tell me to pick?" I growled.
"Because we know that is the one we must kill." he looked up at me as he said that.
What did he mean Kill...?
