The brightness of the sun's rays peered through the light colored curtains in our dorm room, making my eyes flutter open as I stretched in my bed, sitting up. I sighed and looked over at Kalayiah as she's still asleep, her blankets all over her bed with her body constricted in a weird position. I won't understand how she's comfortable like that. I shook my head, chuckling under my breath as I stood up and headed over to the bathroom to shower.

I turned on the water and stripped off my pajamas as the water was warming up. I grabbed my favorite Bath and Beyond soap Moonlight Path and started scrubbing myself as I washed my hair with the Garnier duo. I stood under the shower head, allowing the hot water to flow down and rinse off all the soap and hair products. I stayed there, in thought about what happened last night, the thought of the mysterious figure looking at me at the club. I mean, normally when Kay and I are at the club, there's always guys with stray eyes and even worse curious hands, but I don't know...

It felt different being trapped in his gaze, I felt preyed upon. The sly smirk on his face when he saw me ready to leave in my car as he followed me out of the club, what's the game he's playing at? Whatever it is, he definitely left a mark. I exhaled a deep breath I didn't know I was holding and finished my thoughts in the shower, turning off the water and wrapping a towel around my body as I stepped out. I brushed my teeth and brushed out my hair, putting some leave in conditioner in and got dressed. I decided to wear my regular laid back attire, a black v-neck and denim jeans, my favorite black and red flannel tied around my waist and my all black high top converse. I decided to let my hair down at the end, and put on some mascara and lip balm. I don't care much for makeup but my mother always told me to put a little effort into my appearance, whether it was just mascara and lip balm, it always goes a long way.

I stepped out of the bathroom and walked in to see Kay up and digging through her closet, "Hey, I think I'm going to head out and take a walk okay?" I told her as I walked to my nightstand to grab my phone and headphones. "Alright, I'm going to grab a shower and maybe head out and get something for us to eat." I nodded as she grabbed the outfit she decided on and walked to the bathroom as I started scrolling through my playlist and walked out the door.

Considering I couldn't decide what to start listening to, I put the playlist on shuffle and Coldplay's song 'Yellow' started playing. I walked down the block, passing a few classmates, waving a good morning to them as I kept going. I wasn't walking anywhere specific but I felt the need to clear my head with the thoughts of the guy, 'I mean, who am I kidding? It was one night in the club, it's not like I'm going to see him again.' I shrugged at my inner thought as I happen to be walking close to the little park down the street away from campus. No one was out yet, I raised my eyebrow in curiosity as I looked at the time on my phone reading 9:27 am, no wonder, it's really early. I decided to sit at one of the swings and did what I always happen to do - I started turning the swing around entangling the chains above me. My song changed to 'Remedy' by Adele as I spun back around as I started singing softly along with the lyrics playing. After I got back into a stable position on the swing, I smiled softly as I looked up and saw the clouded blue skies. I sighed softly with calm as I looked down the path ahead of me, a figure standing there looking my way.

I studied the person ahead of me, and noticed he looks as familiar as the guy from last night in the club - tall, light skin, dark hair, but his eyes were bright and striking. No, that's not possible, just a coincidence. I thought to myself as I shook my head and stood back up, continuing my walk further on down the path. As I walked past him, I couldn't help but notice his sharp features, his strong jawline...brown eyes shined but in the sun's rays they'd seem lighter than they are. I looked away quickly and just walked forward, receiving a text from Kay.

Bestie Kay: Hey, where are you? Want me to pick you up so we could get food?

Me: Yea, sure. I'm by the park down the street away from campus.
