Chapter 13

About a week passed since our girls' day, and according to how they've been acting, Meli and Fizz are definitely seeing the guys we met that day at the spa. Meli and I were currently hanging out at Taco Bell for a mini girls date as she was catching me up on all that's happened so far between her and Javier. "He took me out to dinner the other night, he was such a classic romantic Brooke, he brought me a box of chocolates and a dozen roses. The vibes the entire night felt so good, I can't wait to see him again." She said as she started blushing mad and tried looking away, "Aww, that's so nice, sweetie. Maybe you'll go out again soon," I said as her phone went off and brought a great smile onto her face as she noticed it was Javier calling her. "Give me a second okay?" I nodded as Meli slid out of the booth we were in to answer her call.

As she headed to the bathroom to speak, my phone began to ring as well as i noticed it was Derek calling me. "Hi my love, what's up?" I started as I heard some stuff moving in the background until I heard him reply, "Hey, are you still with Meli? Any idea of when you're going to be heading back here?" He asked as I looked at the time on my phone showing it was already 5 in the afternoon, "Probably soon, give or take 30 minutes," I say as I hear him groan, "That's a long time but alright, I want to take you out somewhere special tonight before sundown," I smiled as he said that and saw Meli was coming back, "Alright babe, I'll talk to Meli and convince her to not keep me any later okay?" I heard a soft sigh come from the other end of the call but a small chuckle, "Alright, she better not hog you any longer. I'll see you then, I love you." He said as I said it back and ended the call just as Meli sat back down at the booth.

"Is he summoning the princess already?" She asked sarcastically as she laughed with me, "He's got a plan for tonight so pretty much," I said as Meli nodded, "That's nice. I just got off the phone with Javier and lucky for the both of us, we should start heading out now since we both got to get ready for tonight." She says as she smiles, "Oooh, the both of us, sounds like tonight is your next date with him." I say as I raise my eyebrows playfully at her as she nods in agreement. "Yeah, he wants to show me his family's restaurant. He said his family has been in the food industry all his life but he prefer to take a different approach in careers and ended up studying physical therapy to be a massage therapist." I high fived her and congratulated her in finding a successful man even if it was just the second date. We decided to finish our mini date and started heading back to the house to get ready.

Once we got home, we immediately headed off to our rooms, and as I entered my room, I found Derek dressed up in a dark blue button down shirt and black pants, with the finishing touch of black shoes. "Well, someone looks handsome," I said as I bit my lip and walked towards him as he met me halfway and placed his hands on my hips as he pulled me in for a quick kiss, "Thank you, beautiful. Now I'll let you get ready, and pack an overnight bag alright?" I raised my eyebrow at that as I softly nodded, earning a chuckle from him in return. I simply waved it off and agreed as he walked out of the room to let me get ready; in the meantime, I decided to prepare my overnight bag with the needed essentials and a few pieces of clothing. Seeing how he was dressed, I decided to take the more fancy look approach and got out a mini royal blue cut-out dress with black heels as I walked into the shower to refresh myself. I took a quick shower, leaving my hair dried and ironed it once I got dressed. I did a nude smoked out eye makeup with a matte lip and walked out of the bathroom, ready. I walked out of my room with the overnight bag in hand and headed downstairs as I saw Derek standing there, waiting. He noticed my presence at the bottom of the stairs and looked up at me smiling, "Well, hello there gorgeous, are you ready?" He said as he offered his arm for me to hold as I smiled back at him, "I'm ready."

We got into his car after putting the bags into the back and drove off, "So, are you going to tell me where we are going?" I asked him as he placed his hand on my thigh and gave it a light squeeze. "Not telling, it's a surprise." He said as he smiled over at me and tossed a wink in my direction as I smiled and rolled my eyes, "Okay fine," I said as I leaned over and planted a kiss onto his cheek which he seemed to enjoy as a smile appeared on his face once more. After about 25 minutes passed, we reached a gated fence and stopped by the security box. Derek reached over to put in the gated code, allowing the gates to open for him to enter. Once we entered, we drove up the hill ahead on the road and at the top, a glamorous house was unveiled, "Woah, where are we?" I asked, taking in the view of the house in the light of the orange skies from sundown approaching as Derek parked in front. "Do you like it?" Derek asked me as he opened up my door, holding my hand to help me out of the car, "It's amazing! Honestly, how?" I said, my eyes widening at the sight of the house. He simply smiled and guided me to the door, unlocking the double doors to reveal a grand hall and seating area as the living room.
