She was perfect.
That was all Raymond could think of as he watched his fiancée and mother sit at his dining table and go on and on about the wedding preparations. She really was perfect. The way she smiled, the way she cared about him and his mum. All his friends and family loved her and he knew he was a lucky man to have someone like that want to marry him. She would make him happy, he knew that but what he didn't know was why he was here but his mind was somewhere else, with someone else. He would give anything to not have met her that day outside his office because he would have continued his life with his perfect fiancée but now he had her on his mind, every time.
He couldn't tell what it was, couldn't quite place his fingers on it. Their day together last weekend had been one of the best days he had had in a while. She had started off guarded but later he got to see her spirit and she was beautiful on the inside too. He told himself it was just his flesh reacting and his friends told him it was wedding jitters but he knew it was more than that. From the day she almost took of his head for thinking she was nothing but a pretty face to the day he saw her standing on those steps in that gorgeous red dress to their silly time at the store and when she opened up to him, telling him one of her deepest pains. She was special and much more than that she was strong but despite that he felt this need to protect her. If only she knew how she made him feel but one of those feelings was guilt, he felt like he was cheating on Grace and that didn't seat right with him. He had prayed last night that God would take this feelings away if he wasn't meant to feel them but nothing happened they were still there, even when he worked he zoned out thinking about her smile and those little quirks about her she probably didn't know about.
He took another look at Grace as she stared wide eyed at her IPad as she and his mum continued to deliberate wedding designs, he couldn't compare the two of them. Grace was his best friend and she had been for years, he couldn't imagine his life without her but then there was Kazia who he only just met but felt like he couldn't go a day without seeing and he had spent a whole week without seeing her so he knew. There was no comparing them but why did he feel like he was letting his wife-to-be down especially now that he was basically spending the whole day with Kazia teaching her how to drive, there was no way this feeling were going anywhere if he would have her so close.
"Hey babe."
Grace broke his trace as she stood excitedly in front of him, like a dog who had found a bone. She was adorable.
"Hey sweetie, is it now time for me to finally have a say in my own wedding?"
"Yes and no." She sat on his lap and lovingly placed a kiss on his cheek. "Your mum and I just found the perfect reception decoration, I just want to get your input."
"If you love it then I love it because I love you."
"You are the best you know that?"
"I know."
"So are you still going out today? I need you here so we can pick a caterer and one area your mum and I don't agree on is food."
"I wish I could hun but I promised Kazia I would teach her to drive."
"She better not take you away from me, ok?" She gently kissed him on his lips then was off to continue their wedding preparations with his mum. Grace was so innocent and trusting that he didn't want to break her heart but he wasn't going to, he was just going out to teach a friend how to drive so with that resolution in his heart he picked up his keys, blew his fiancée a kiss form across to the room and was off to meet Kazia.

"You are the worst student ever, has anyone ever told you that?"
"No actually, I have always been my teachers pet so I guess it isn't me it's you."
